1956 Woodill Wildfire
This is the real deal, serial number 9931 with the factory vin plate, and dash plates. It was originally sold in California in and titled in 1958 with a CA pink slip as a 1958 SPCNS (Special Construct) with the proper Woodill VIN of 9931. It now has a clean and clear AZ title with the correct 4 digit VIN, which is just super cool to me. The lowest i've ever seen another vin was my AC Aceca that had a 6 digit VIN. (I am including pics of the Titles, the CA one is no longer valid, obviously, but the AZ MVD lets you keep the old pink slips after you transfer them)
Although titled, it was never finished being built and has lived in garages it's whole life just waiting to be finished. The frame was modified to accept an independent front suspension and 4 link straight axle rear. I am not 100% sure of what the suspension components are from.
The drivetrain is not mounted to the frame and would need the motor/trans mounts sorted out. I installed the motor and trans to get the fitment right, but the client I was building this for lost funds and rather than finish it and sell it, I am selling it as is now in case the future owner has different plans for engine and trans. Whats mocked up in it now is a y block 292 Ford that I removed from a running, driving 56 f100. It did not smoke, and has good compression. the trans in the 3 speed manual.
The body is in great shape, it has been garage kept and the primer is in great shape. The doors, hood, and trunk are not mounted, I just set them in their spots for the photos. Please look at the photos carefully, as what you see is what you get. This vehicle still needs a decent amount of work to get on the road, but it is a great starting point, and is cheaper to build than a cobra kit car, and you won't have to answer questions about it being a replica, as this body was hand laid by Glasspar in CA in 1956, and this frame was hand built at the Woodill Factory in 1956!
When it comes to sourcing parts for it, if you have any questions on where to get anything, just message me and I should be able to help. Some of the The parts like taillights were originally sourced from Cadillac so they are easy to find. Cobra Kits from companies like Factory Five offer a lot of parts that can cross over like the fuel caps, trunk and hood hinges, windshield, and stuff like that. Some of the brackets will require some fabricating but nothing too bad. Nada guides have this at 32K$ on the low end and 103K$ if its finished right, so there's a lot of wiggle room for someone here.
UPDATE;I received a message about the VIN plates saying they weren't original. The three brass plates are, in fact, from the Woodill Factory, but they are not the legal VIN tag. That tag is on the door, and I have since added a photo to clarify this confusion. The brass plates were commonly installed on the dash and are sometimes referred to as dash tags or dash plates.
