Offered for sale is an early, and incredibly desirable, chain drive1920 American LaFrance Type 48 Speedster. This wonderful ALF has had the pump and related pieces removed, as well as the fenders and hose bed, etc. The engine, firewall, and radiator have been moved rearward 5 ½”, for better weight distribution and for a much better and balanced look. It ran and drove very well, prior to this work happening recently. The engine was rebuilt some time ago, however we don’t know exactly what was done.
It runs cool, and makes good oil pressure. The seat, shift / brake linkage, and fuel tank have also been moved back as well. The steering column has been swung down to approximate its final location. We have left these items in a mocked up state, so as to let the new owner determine exactly where he, or she, wants the final location and look to be. This is a wonderful project opportunity and presents a clean slate, to build to your taste! It does not have a title, sold on bill of sale only. We are happy to assist with overseas shipping arrangements.
