1965 Mustang Coupe 289 3 Spd Auto 72,568 Original Miles, Original Motor/Trans
1965 Ford Mustang Description
This 1965 Mustang Coupe was built in San Jose, California and remained on the west coast until 2000. In 2000 the car underwent a restoration at 53,000 miles for a raffle drawing by the Boys & Girls Club of the Olympic Peninsula. The winner of the car sold it to a dealership in Port Anglees, WA. The car was then sold in March 2001. That owner kept until 2005. During those 4 years, that owner put about 19,000 miles on the car. The next owner purchased the car and kept it in a climate controlled garage for the next 13 years and only drove it 250 miles.
It is very rare to find a 1965 Mustang that is this clean that has all of it's original metal. The underneath is clean and does not have any rot.
New parts in the last few years include: Radiator, water pump, fan, clutch, brake cylinders, brake shoes, gas tank, A-arms, control arms, ball joints, bushings and shafts, tied rods, springs, front shocks, rebuilt power steering pump. The car has upgraded halogen headlights with proper relay kit. The tail lights were upgraded to LED lighting.
The interior is in excellent shape and needs nothing. Pictures speak for themselves.
The car runs great and sounds great. It has headers with dual mufflers. All gauges work properly. Horn works and wipers work. It has an aftermarket Sony Radio/CD player.
Since many of the front end parts were recently replaced, it would best to get a front end alignment to dial it in properly.
The car was repainted in 2000 during the restoration. It is 18 years old and does have blemishes. A good paint shop could restore the blemishes and blend them in. The car can go many years with the paint as is. A new paint job would make this car stunning as it needs nothing else.
This car is 53 years old but does not look it's age. It is not perfect but is not far from being a top rated car. It is being sold as is with no warranty.
