From its chrome ‘jets’ atop the front fenders to its two pairs of triple taillights, this is one fine Bubbletop cruiser.... MotoeXotica Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1960 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe. Assembled in Chevrolet’s Baltimore, Maryland factory, this top-of-the-line two-door is ready and waiting for you to take her home!Finished in Ermine White, (code 936), the car’s paint and exterior trim are in overall very good order. The car’s windows are clear and crack-free and its lights are haze-free and look great. The car rolls on Broadway Classic whitewalls, size 205/75R14 at all four corners, each tire surrounding a factory wheel cover. The tires and wheel covers are in overall good condition. This Impala’s body panels are straight and solid, the bumpers still shine well, the trunk looks great with its floor mat and it has a full-sized spare tire, the engine bay is very tidy and the battery looks new. The car even comes with door handle guards. Currently, one rear fender skirt is on the car while the other is in the trunk.Under the hood is an updated driveline; a 327 CID Turbo-Fire V-8 engine breathing through an open element air cleaner, a Rochester Quadra-Jet carburetor and dual exhausts and bolted to a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission. The engine also features chrome rocker covers and Ram’s Horn exhaust manifolds. There’s even a glass bottle full of GM’s “Opti-Kleen” windshield washer fluid.Inside, the car is upholstered in red/white vinyl contrasted with a real hounds tooth pattern on the seats (code 873), a rare find. The red and white bench seats are in excellent shape, as is the red carpeting and white headliner. The fuel gauge is inoperable but the red metal instrument panel looks very sharp. The original, two-spoke steering wheel is present and looks fantastic and the inner door panels are in great shape. The mirror glass is in very good condition, as is the shift lever. Completing the interior are a chrome tissue box holder beneath the instrument panel, a 6x9 speaker in the center of the rear package shelf and a factory AM radio. One year removed from its wild 1959 peak, the following year of full-sized Chevys took a step back from the styling brink as new head stylist Bill Mitchell started to “un-do” the work of his predecessor, Harley Earl. So tailfins became flatter and less pronounced on the 1960 big cars. The three taillights on each side motif returned to the Impalas (with two taillight per side to denote lesser Bel-Airs and Biscaynes from the rear) and each successive model year under Mitchell offered less chrome.Competition to this Chevrolet in 1960 included two-door hardtops from Dodge’s Dart, Edsel’s Ranger, Ford’s Galaxie, Plymouth’s Fury and Pontiac’s Catalina. This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 99,040 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
