1980 Other Makes Description

Rare and fabulous 1980 Clenet Convertible!

This stunning neo-classic automobile was number 27 of 250 of the four-seaters (Series II) hand-crafted by Clenet Coachworks of Santa Barbara, CA. However, only about 140 were actually built.
NOTE - This is NOT a kit car!
Known as the “American Rolls Royce,” Clenets were made of top quality materials and turn heads wherever you go! This Clenet features a burlwood dash, Italian Recaro seats, crystal hood ornament and ash trays (both remain), teak running boards, canvas soft top with boot, two piece hood, fog lamps, automatic, electric seats/air/windows (all work), and etched crystal side windows.
Clenet owners included foreign leaders, Muhammed Ali, Farah Fawcett, Wayne Newton and many more. Many Clenets were shipped to Europe, Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

Sold new for $83,000 in 1980 (about $250,000 in today’s dollars!).
Transmission just overhauled (the car sat for many years) but now runs and idles very smoothly, chrome and trim are near-perfect, very minor seat wear, dash is impressive and looks like a corporate jet! Undercarriage is spotless. Tires look new.
Very few Clenets were made with the white exterior and black leather interior. This one is sharp. At car shows, it draws a big crowd.
This car is simply stunning. It has a modern, sports car interior but gives you that classic 1930's look. Like we said, it turns heads. The horn is awesome too!
Engine is a 351 Cleveland with a Lincoln drivetrain.
Pioneer AM/FM CD (this was an aftermarket addition).
Why am I selling? Combination of health reasons and space.... but hoping to find someone who will appreciate this beautiful car as much as we have.
Hard to find a nicer Clenet on the planet !!
