1948 Other Makes 201 Description

1948 Diamond T model 201. Only 8,000 or so model 201’s were produced during their 13 year production from 1937-1949. Made in Chicago, Illinois, The model 201 was referred to as the “Cadillac of Trucks” and cost 30% more than the Competition of the same era offered from Chevy and Ford. These trucks are best described as a gentlemen’s Heavy Duty-one ton truck of the era. Rare to see them restored/restomodded even rarer to see them in all original condition with less than 25,000 original miles.
The truck has new exhaust, new plugs/wires, new wiring, new starter, new distributor, newer fuel tank and new brake lines. The truck runs and drives and starts right up. However, I have not driven it any real distance to speak of and I know there are more things that will need to be addressed.
Perfect to further the mechanics restoration, do full restoration or that cool body for the practical restomod. I’ve seen restored variations of this truck reach over $100k. My reserve is very reasonable for how rare this truck is. Do not confuse this truck with the larger models that have DRW or later versions under the Diamond Rio name. They are not the same truck and are far more common than the model 201.
