Here up for sale is this dialed-in 1950 Crosley wagon. This car recently underwent a full restoration, it's turnkey and ready to enjoy. Crosley made about 4200 wagons for the 1950 model year, and despite their diminutive size they were actually pretty advanced for their age, being the first production automaker to feature 4 wheel disc brakes. Other Crosely "firsts" were the first mass-market SOHC engine in 1946, the first all steel-bodied wagon in 1947, the first postwar American sports car (the Hotshot) in 1949, and the first automaker to use the term "Sport Utility", way back in 1948.

This car was taken down to a bare shell before painting; glass out, all trim off. The paint is a late 90's Mustang color named Thistle Metallic but we can just call it purple. Prep and application were both excellent, this is nice paint. The 2nd and 3rd photos below show how it comes alive in direct sunlight. Striping and woodgraining were done by Dan Donaca. All 4 wheels and tires are new and in perfect shape.
New bumpers front and rear. Excellent trim throughout with no pitting or tarnishing.
All new glass, sweeps, seals and weatherstripping, every piece.
New grill, lights and lenses. Hood badge is original and still looking good.
All lights and signals operate correctly and the door locks all work. Lift gate and hatch open and close smoothly. Included but not shown is the factory jacking equipment.
The interior has been completely restored from top to bottom with all new materials.
Clean and crisp upholstery work throughout.
All gauges are working correctly. The car features a rare Motorola factory radio that has been restored, it works perfectly.
The SOHC Four starts right up and runs like a sewing machine. Mated to a 3 speed transmission, this little Crosley offers a unique driving experience. The car tracks straight, stays cool, and brakes well thanks to its 4-wheel discs. The car's speedometer shows a top speed of 70mph but that might be a little unrealistic, if not impossible. This wagon is best suited as an around-town kind of car, just as long as you're not in a hurry.
Clean and straight undercarriage with all original floor pans and no rust issues. The spare tire is original and probably unusable, it will be replaced with a new radial mounted on the original rim by the end of the auction.
