1960 Other Makes Description

Reluctantly selling my 1960 Lotus 7, but at age 78,my family has no interest in my cars, I think it better to have it go, before I do.

Reluctant, but Motivated... my age creeps up quickly..so
I am motivated, and will consider ALL reasonable offer to add a "Buy it Now" to end the auction early
It sells with a low reserve. If it does not reach reserve. I will send ebays " Second Chance Offer " to the top three bidders.
This Lotus 7 was built in 1960, with Chassis # L563/763 by the Lotus supplier at the time, New Progress. Having always been kept indoors, the frame is solid and has no rust or other damage.. It has an all aluminum bodywork, with the rare alloy slant nose by Lotus supplier Williams and Pritchard. The rear axle assembly is IRS Lotus 26. Some suggestions have been offered that the car was originally built with the IRS to test the new 26 IRS Differential while the Elan was being developed, or it was converted later. Regardless, the car has been this way for almost 50 years, as it was photographed by Dennis Ortenburger, and is in his 1970's book, Legends of the Seven. It still appears today, as pictured by him back then..
The car handles extremely well on track, but has also been my favorite for buzzing country back roads, car shows, and cruz-ins. I have recently put my Sprite race engine in it, anticipating a December race at Savannah, but it sells with the BMC 1098cc engine that is hardly broken in, and Ribcase 4 speed. It sells 'Ready to Drive' .
Disc brakes up front, we have recently designed the dual circuit brake system for safety, and even better braking. Wire wheels are original 15" Healey in the rear and 13" Triumph up front, shod with Vintage trackable tires.
The car never had fenders, but a pair of alloy cycle fronts are included. Also included, is the original das, hood, and some bits. The camera moun, transducer, race engine, tires and wheels in the race picture are from another car and not included.
The car is registered in Alabama, making transfer or export easier, and it is insured by Haggerty for 25,000. It may need additional items to be street legal elsewhere.
This car turns heads... and will give you smiles, from ear to ear.
