1938 Packard 110 Description

1938 Packard 110 sedan
This car has a has been with the same owner for around 12 years. it has the flat head straight 6, 245 cubic inches, with 100 hp and a 3 speed manual transmission. It has been sitting in a barn for around 6 years. It has never really had a restoration. You can tell someone repaired the trunk floors, and it was painted but that is all it looks like. It is a great candidate for a restoration, rest mod, or advertising for your business. The car gets a lot of attention. The car still runs on the 6v electrical system. I have an 8v battery in the car to assist with cold cranking. I recently put new points and condenser in and now it fires right up without any issues. This car will need a little work before she is road worthy, I haven't gone through the entire car, I only made it run so I could move it around and get it on to the next owners trailer. The brakes were working and they stopped working the other day, so Im guessing the master cylinder has given up. I use the hand brake while moving it around the shop. I put coolant in the radiator and the next day i noticed a puddle under the car, so there must be a leak. The car was painted about 10 years ago we think. The body seems to be in good shape. The bumpers look great, and must have been rechromed at some point in its life. The glass in the car is also in nice shape without and scratches or cracks. The windows go up and down nicely. The door gaps are all nice and the doors open and close solid. The Firestone white wall tires are old but look great and hold air. The trim rings are in great shape on the wheels, and the center caps have no dents but have some oxidation that polishing won't remove, they look ok, but could use refinishing. As for the interior, I got it ready to go to the upholstery shop. The rear door panels are gone along with the headliner and the front door panels are still intact but will need to be refinished with the rest of interior. I found a spot under the car seat that rust has eaten through the floor (see photos). The dash is in nice shape and is all intact. I have not driven the car fast enough to see if the speedo works, I would guess and say it does not. The transmission works nicely, and goes into gear as it should and the clutch feels good as well. The trunk has a spare tire. This is really is a cool car, and i don't think it will take too much to get it driving down the road.
