1955 Packard Description

I bought this Packard out of Iowa from a restoration facility early last year. The vehicle was repainted by a previous owner a number of years ago, but is in excellent condition with minimum blemishes. The interior was done at the same time in correct style. No wear is apparent. The owner at that time became ill and passed away and the vehicle sat for a period of time. The chrome is original and rear bumper has some scratches, but overall is in good condition for a 61 year old car. All stainless is in excellent condition. All glass is good. Engine, generator, starter are original. The starter was rebuilt last year. After market A/C was installed by previous owner and works really well. New rear shocks have also been installed. Vehicle has seat belts. Body of vehicle is in incredible condition with no rust, rot or dents. There is a number of additional parts in the trunk including; new glove box, two fender covers, new thermostat, new points, condenser & rotor. There is new weather strip for the doors and trunk lid. Also overhaul gasket set (minus one rocker cover gasket). Included is a special tool, J-6065 for use if you have the need to work on front suspension. As I said earlier, front suspension has been all refurbished. Manuals included are; Shop, Parts Manual, Owners Manual, Service Man Counselors for that particular year. All receipts that I have are included.Oil Pressure at idle when vehicle is warmed up is right at 30 lbs. The car is fast and runs strong. I have driven it over 300 miles since the first of June. Easily keeps up with modern traffic. (I know. I dove it on an Expressway where the speed limit is 65 mph. no body went by me). T car did not have power steering when I acquired it. It was an optional item on Clippers. Packard offered two systems that year. Either a Bendix system or Monroe. I selected a Monroe System with new hoses and tie rod ends. World of difference in handling. Why am I selling?? Severe Scoliosis of the spine, extreme amount of back arthritis, heart condition, and 83 candles on the cake. Take your pick. If you have any questions, call 716-694-930. No guarantee is expressed or implied. Vehicle is old as is. Shipping and transportation is at expense of buyer.
