+Overview Of Entire Vehicle:This is a 1955 Packard 400 2-Door Hardtop in highly original condition throughout. The body is solid as a rock with super straight sides and appears to be totally rust-free. This car appears to be a true survivor with only 59k miles which we believe to be original. The interior is pretty much all original. The carpet will need to be replaced because it got wet and we never noticed till few months later ( water got in trough the driver's door. Seems not to be sealing fine) No rust. Under the hood appears to be all original with its original drive train which includes a 352 ci V8 engine and Ultramatic automatic transmission. This car has beautiful original chrome and trim throughout.Options/Equipment: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, Power Antenna Wire, Wheel Hub caps, AM Radio, Packard Running Lights Passenger, Side Mirror, Automatic Leveling, Rear Suspension, Rear Window, Defroster Etc...
+ExteriorSince we got this car, we did not do any work on the exterior. We are not sure if the white opal color or the red is original. The white paint peeled off in some spot and have some patches/touch up and scratches; the hard top have some dark spot that started appearing in the last 8 years. The car appears to have all its original chrome and trim which again is in good condition. It has all its .emblems. the Packard lettering is good. The drivers and passenger glass each has a crack inside the glass. All glasses appears to be all original. The car is sitting on Packard wheel hubcaps wrapped in Coker tires. There is a dent on the drivers side headlight. Also the trunk locks perfectly. We mostly kept in our garage and is overall it is an amazing presentation for what we believe to be an original survivor.
+InteriorSince we got this car, we did not do any work on the interior. The interior in the car appears to be all original and in good condition except for the carpet which need replaced. The driver's seat has a tear. We believe it is a factory tri-tone red and white leather with black metallic fabric interior that is still soft and pliable showing its great storage and care. All the door panels are nice, the dash pad looks amazing, and the steering wheel is excellent with no cracks at all. All the trim in the interior are intact. It appears to have all original weatherstripping and the sill plates which might need to be replaced. The headliner is in excellent condition and overall the interior has survived the times. Everything in the car works including except for the antenna which doesn't come up. Inside the glove box is clean with the original glove box liner. Inside the trunk is clean and appear to be original with a spare tire and might need the original seal changed.
+MechanicallyIt was driving fine till 2015 then we got too busy to drive it around. Didn't start this year so we brought it to our mechanic who cleaned the distributor, installed a new ignition coil and repair some wiring. It cranks, have sparks but needs the carburetor to be rebuild and the fuel pump and tank needs to be cleaned for it to be running as new.The underside of this car is very clean, solid and rust-free with what appears to be factory undercoating from 1955. There is no sign of rust, seem to have all its original sheet metal underneath and is just nice and original. The exhaust system is good, the mufflers look good.
