1965 Plymouth Belvedere II
Barn Find – Project Car – Race Car
This 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II is a true Barn Find. This car was raced out of Kentucky in the eighties by Doug & Dawn Hensley. It was purchased and moved to NY where it was raced for a time, the engine was removed and it was put in storage. It was later purchased, moved to PA and stored for many years with the hope of building it into a 426 wedge racer. About 8 years ago a 440 with a torqueflite was taken out of a running car and placed in the engine compartment. The car was put back in storage until I acquired it about 6 months ago. I had plans to get it running, but have just sold my house and no longer have anywhere to keep it!
I had sold this car to a bidder from California, in August, who paid the deposit – but never came to look at the car or pick it up. I am now in NY and the car is at a friend’s in Coatesville PA.
The car is back halved with a narrowed Dana rear / 4.56 gears / coil over fully adjustable shocks and 4 link suspension. It has a four point cage.
The car comes with headers, water pump, fuel cell, alternator and new master cylinder.
The body is in good shape, has some minor rust issues on drivers side by windshield, on pass quaterpanel by wheel well and some flooring issues, but very solid overall. It has been in inside storage for 20+ years
