1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus Description

1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus

Overview:

2nd owner, 2 door hard top car! Factory A/C that works! Great looking and running, real-world car (current daily driver). Approximately 208,000 original miles.

Specs:

318 CI engine, 4bbl – built!

V8 engine rebuilt and installed when car had 186,164 miles (under 22k miles on the rebuild - just getting good and broke in!) . Original block, bored 30 thou. over. High compression pistons (10:1). Hi-lift cam. 360 heads, intake and exhaust manifolds (larger valves and ports than 318). Heads shaved 10 thou. High volume oil pump. 4 bbl Edelbrock carburetor. Dual exhaust with glass packs. Sounds and runs great!

3 sp. automatic on the column, 727 Torqueflite Automatic Transmission (upgraded with a freshly rebuilt unit from the 904 original when car had approximately 195,000 miles - meaning only 13,000 miles on it since rebuild!). This is the one they put behind the big blocks!) Has a shift kit! With your foot in, it shifts fast, mean, and hard! However, it is still pleasant to cruise in if you don't put your foot to the floor. External transmission cooler on since 727 tranny was new.

8.25, 10 bolt rear axle. 2.71:1 gear ratio. The tall gears make it a great cruiser. However, with the shift kit and the power from the built engine, it will still really get up and go when you get into it and kick it down (a gear).

Factory Air – works! Front disc brakes. Aftermarket stereo upgrade, with clean, no visible car modification install (original stereo remains, didn’t cut the dash). CD player w/ remote, 12” JL sub w/ JBL amp, Infinity 6x9 component speakers in rear and Kenwood speakers in the front. New chrome, 70 amp, alternator.

5 hole aluminum mag wheels. 15”x10” wide on rear. New 265/75 R15 tires on rear. 14” wheels on front.

The Car's (well documented) Story:

I purchased this car from the original owners in 2000, in Colorado. With the car, I received from them thorough records from the time it was new, including the original manufacturer’s window sticker. Every parts receipt, work order invoice, a log of fuel fill-ups, you name it, it’s probably included. I have continued this thorough record keeping style. This car was in Colorado from when it was new until 2014, when I moved to SC. It has always been garaged. No rust. Never in the salt belt. Very limited winter driving in the last 13 years. Undercoated from the factory. Very clean car that is my current daily driver. It’s ready to go! I am only selling because I am moving to a location that is cost prohibitive to move items to, and where it rains and snows a lot. I don’t want to see it deteriorate. I’d rather see it go to someone who will continue to appreciate and maintain it well.

Additional Items Included:

Also included in the sale are 6 Chrysler Rallye wheels (2 have studded snow tires on them). Also it will come with the 4 original steel wheels and premium center caps which were on it from the factory. The original spare tire and wheel as well as a spare AC compressor will also be included with the car. Lastly, the thorough documentation will be passed to the proud 3rd owner.

The Best Thing About this Car:

This is the identical body to the same year Road Runner and GTX models. The only difference was the power trains that were offered with each. Because it is the Plus version it came standard with the Rallye gauges and bucket seats just like the Road Runner and GTX models. This car turns heads everywhere I go. Few can place what it is. If you’re looking for an affordable way to get your hands on a real classic American muscle car, but finding out the price tags get downright scary, then this car is for you. This is a more affordable investment in arguably an even more unique, car with the exact same gorgeous body and engine-carrying-potential, as the high value main-stream Mopar muscle counter-parts. And just like they do, this model also continues to appreciate in value!
