1972 Plymouth Barracuda CUDA Description

Up for sale today is a 1972 Cuda. This car has been in the family since the mid-70s, so I will tell you everything I know about it. My brother bought the car when he came home from boot camp around 1976 with around 28,000 original miles on it. He drove it for about a month and put the car up on blocks outside when he left after his leave. In the early ?80s he came home again on leave and we took the car off the blocks. We did some of the typical stuff that was done in that era, we pulled the engine and sent it to a performance shop where they went through it and added some performance parts and freshened it up. At the same time we did the transmission and added a shift kit along with performance clutch discs, we bought and installed a Dana 60 and put new 456 gears and a new posi unit in it. We had a B&M floor shifter installed. The car is a column shift with factory bucket seats. After touching up some paint in a few spots where the tarp had been rubbing against it we drove it about 5 miles and parked it back on the blocks again. The car sat on blocks until about two years ago when I moved it from NY to PA.

The sad part is the car was outside under a tarp the whole time that my brother has been in the military and it shows. I bought the car from my brother with the original intention to restore it, two years later and it still sitting covered up with no signs of me starting the restoration any time soon. Right now the car has about 30,000 original miles on it, and a clean California title. The car is going to need some major body repairs. The car has some major rust from sitting outside for so long. The car had a vinyl top and most of the rust is in the rear of the car. The doors are near perfect and front fenders have small spots of rust at the bottoms. I got a very fair quote from AMD to repair the body damage. On top of bring in great shape the doors open and close like new. The car has the original radio system and the doors have never been cut. I do have the door panel. The only thing not original on the inside of the car is the shifter.

I am not a body man, but I have described the car to the best of my ability. Please understand that this is a project car. I did start the engine last summer and it fired off once I let the oil pressure build.
