1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring 2 door coupe 318 ci - 8 cylinder Gold in & Out
1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Description
Some back story:I purchased this 1973 Satellite in Los Angeles CA 1985 and drove it cross country in July of 1992. Daily driver in spring, summer, and some fall months till 94' ( was garagedin the winter ).Since then it has been off the road but started and ran often. Got most of the body issues when I had to move to a place with no garage and covered it for the winter. (Big Mistake). My Brother & I rebuilt and refurbished much. The 318 engine was completely rebuilt in 1987. The car had 118,000 miles on it then. Bored out the cylinders to about a 327ci and added a 3/4" cam.Car now has 165,563 miles on it, and Engine now has approximately 20,000 miles on it.Engine is solid, could use some more TLC and updates. It has only a 2 barrel carb which was rebuilt last summer by a person refereed to me.The car ran excellent then, garaged it for the winter of 2016, but this year when I went to start it had issues. I did get it running great at times and others not so much.Replaced fuel filter twice and fuel does run to the carb. So that is where the problem is. Probably needs a good rebuilt carb. I just don't have the time or money to work on it anymore.I do have a 4 barrel intake manifold for it. I was going to convert it but life happens.Other thinks to know:Was painted & reupholsteredin 1988. Needs new paint and body work now. Interior has held up pretty well. I would say in above average condition. As you can see from the pictures, it has body rot on all wheel wells more on the rear, and trunk area. The frame is still solid.Column shift automatic trans, Split bench front seat. Stereo cassette player still works good. AC works but is disconnected. Heat also works.Drivers seat back needs a side clip to hold release rod to lift seat forward in place.Replaced the ignition switch back in 1994 but did something wrong reassembling the steering wheel. It does steer ok but not seamlessly, the horn sounds when turning the wheel so I had to disconnect it.This will need to be addressed. The Transmission and Differential both leak and have since I bought the car. Never addressed. I always thought they worked ok when fluid was kept up, But they will both need to be rebuilt.Trans does slip now & rear end has a clunking. The gas tank was replaced in 2005Also will need tires and breaks. Has 4 Cragar rims that may be savable. 50" deep on rear & 60 " standard on front.Like I mentioned need some TLC.Has a clear title that I hold.I do have some other small extra parts as well such as name badges.
