1965 Plymouth Satellite 426 Wedge 4-speed

Extremely dry and solid car. NO RUST ANYWHERE. Originally came out of Texas, then spent a few years in central California. The car has been in my possession since June 2016 and has spent the entire time since then in my garage. Great looking car from about 10-20 feet. In good enough shape to take to the local car shows but will need some work to be a “show car”. Car is an original 426 Wedge car. Manual steering, manual brakes. Built October 7, 1964 at the Lynch Road plant in Detroit. Only options were heater w/defroster and variable speed windshield wipers. See fender tag. One of only 687 built with the 426 Wedge and 4-speed trans. Car currently has a tired 413 in it. Engine runs good but does smoke. The throttle cable broke last time I drove it and I have not started or driven it since. That was about a year ago. So let your transporter know that the car is NOT RUNNING AT THE CURRENT MOMENT. Once home, some fresh gas and a throttle cable, she'll fire right up. Since I bought the car, I was able to locate and purchase a correct, date coded 426 block for the car. I had the block hot tanked and fluxed. One of the cylinders was a little out of whack so they installed a sleeve and did a rough bore of the cylinders .060" over. It still needs to be line bored and decked. It's ready for you to take over from there. But it IS a buildable block. My plan was to use the 413 as the donor for the 426 block to build it. I also have the correct air cleaner lid. No base though. Transmission works well but does grind going into 2nd gear. 3.91 Suregrip 8 ¾ rearend. Car has new brakes, radiator, and the fuel tank was boiled out. Master cylinder was replaced with a dual reservoir unit for safety reasons. BFG Radial T/A’s on American Racing Torque Thrust D’s, also new. Front and rear bumpers have both been rechromed and look new. Original Copper car with black interior. Previous owner painted roof black because he felt it looked better. Car did not originally come with black top. Inside, the front and rear door panels have been replaced with Legendary Interiors being the source. Seat covers, headliner, package tray and dash are original and although they show their wear, they are in nice shop. Rear seat has a couple small cracks at top of back rest. Dash pad is starting to show a small amount of wear in the windshield corners. Carpet has most likely been replaced at one time or another. Paint, in my opnion, is about a 6 out of 10. There are a couple of small scratches and one small ding. Car is extremely straight overall. When I bought the car and had it transported, there was a Porsche 911 above my car in the trailer. The Porsche apparently had a fuel leak and the fuel melted the undercoating. The fuel/undercoating mixture ran down and fell onto the decklid of the Satellite, causing some cloudiness and damaged the clearcoat. It is still Copper though and I've had to show some people what I'm talking about. Meaning, some might not even notice it. I took the car to a bodyshop here in town and they gave me an estimate of $600 to repaint the decklid. The damage is isolated to the decklid only. Stainless on the car is all there and is in excellent condition. I do have a couple of extra pieces also. Glass is all there, not cracked, and operates as it should. The side windows have some sanding scratches and the windshield has scratches from bad windshield wipers. All interior lights work, gauges, headlights, turn signals, wipers, etc. I don’t believe the reverse lights work and the horn is not currently working. Have not had time to diagnose. Trunk has been restored. Spatter paint, trunk mat, restored jack, spare tire, etc. The trunk weatherstripping was in poor shape so I removed it and tossed it. I was going to order a new one but didn’t get around to it. Since the photos were taken, I sent the grill back east and had it restored. They stripped, straightened, re-anodized, polished the grill. They painted in the recessed areas and added an NOS grill emblem which I supplied. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The P-L-Y-M-O-U-T-H letters on the hood and trunk lid are brand new and so are the “Commando V8” emblems on the fenders. I have an NOS "426" hood emblem. Overall this is a nice looking car. It could be completely restored or could be worked on and enjoyed at the same time. I took it to a local car show right after I got it and the car got a ton of attention. A very rare and desirable car.

Car is located in Seaside Oregon. It will need to be picked up from my driveway.
