I. 1962 PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY
This 1962 Plymouth Sport Fury is a great restoration project. It has good bones and restoration has been started by previous owner and has been off the road since the 80's. Previous owner took the car apart and I put some parts back on for storage. Driver's side was repaired, however rear wheel lip still needs repair. The cowl, which is a problem for these cars, was repaired. The passenger side repairs were not started. The floors are in good shape except for a hole on driver's side caused by leak in cowl which was repaired. I was going to replace the whole floor but it could be patched depending on level of restoration. The trunk floor is good shape except for rear corners. Frame rails are solid and sound and engine compartment was manually stripped showing clean metal.
II. SPORT FURYORIGINAL PARTS AND NOS PARTS:
I believe this car has most of its original parts but can't verify 100% since I didn't take the car apart. The transmission is missing and there is no side glass. The exhaust manifolds are missing on the original 361 engine. This car is a roller with no steering. I believe this car was a manual steering car that was going to be switched to power, however the previous owner did not keep the old manual steering box. The steering wheel lengths are different and the manual was too long when I bolted up the power steering box. It still rolls well and steering is secure so you're able to turn tires manually. NEW or NOS: Seats have been covered with original design with new foam and padding. Also, roof rail rubber, rear roll up seals, trunk seals, accelerator pad, hood to radiator seal, original hubcaps in good shape, 4 NOS hubcaps, front and rear window gaskets plus one extra, set of NOS rear light housings and lens plus 4 extra reverse lens, 2 upper ball joints, 2 lower ball joints, steering arm, 4 bushing for front end, one rear brake line, new black carpet, 4 new black mats, transmission mount, catwisker seal, rebuilt power steering box. Good start on parts with well over $3000 in new and NOS parts in today's market.
III. PARTS CAR OPTION-1962 BELVEDERE $1500
I do have a 1962 Belvedere with nice front end, great hood, and trunk lid that cost previous owner $500. This car is a nice roller with no engine, transmission, and interior. It was a 6 banger automatic. My opinion, unless you have your own 62 parts, is that this car is needed to make restoration easier. THIS CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SPORT FURY AUCTION. This car also has a clean Missouri title in my name. Could be made into a nice ratrod.
IV. 1962 413 SUPERSTOCK PARTS OPTIONS $2000
My plans was to make the Fury into a 413 dual quad with a 4 speed so I myself, collected some parts. I have a 1965 413 complete with all brackets. The engine was stuck so I put in fluid in cylinders and has been setting for a year or so. I did purchase two good heads with the 4 hole 1962 pattern along with valve covers so it would look stock to someone who knows these cars.Total of 4complete heads. I have a complete 4 speed pedals set, manual shift dash, set of new superstock upsweep exhaust manifolds, and an 833 4 speed with rear trunion. Yes I know a 4 speed was not an option in 62 but the rear trunion is stock and I was going to put on a 3 speed shift ball for originality. $2000 is cheap for all these parts.
V. SUMMATION: Both cars are restorable and come with clear Missouri title in my name. Auction is just for the 1962 Sport Fury as it sets with new and NOS parts listed. If you would like the 413 parts, I could set the engine in the Belvedere or Fury for transportation. Fury comes with original 361 four barrel that has good compression and turns over. The glass in the Fury is just setting in the Fury which makes transportation a problem. I can discuss this with new owner. Sport Fury ending auction price plus Belvedere option plus 413 Superstock options equals price.
VI. CONLUSION:
I don't need another project, however my brother is looking for a project. I would consider only trading both cars and parts for a late 50's or 60's muscle car project of the same value or less. The 62 Plymouth is starting to be appreciated. A rare car at any show or rod run. I do have a lot more pictures of both cars but limited to only 24 pictures. I can be reached at 816-232-6845 and my name is Ted. Please, serious callers only. All bidders with 50 or less transactions need to contact me before bidding or your bid will be rejected and reported to Ebay. I will help with loading or shipper. Storage is not a problem. The Fury is inside and the Belvedere is outside covered. Both cars can set until picked within 45 days as long as complete payment is made within 10 business days. $1000 due at end of auction.
