1971 Plymouth Duster 340 clone
1971 Plymouth Duster Description
I have a 71 Plymouth Duster 340 clone ( originally slant 6) I am the 3rd owner of this car . The original owner was in his early 90’s and his daughter insisted he sell it . It was garaged kept for the first 30 years . The next owner replaced the wheels and tires and bumpers . He installed the hood scoops and was an enthusiast but not a mechanic. The car was a daily driver with 38,000 miles on it . From what I saw it was parked in the street . He owned it for 10 years and it was in need of a new Paint job . When I bought it in 2014 it had a quarter size hole in the left tear quarter panel and had surface rust on the roof but really super clean otherwise. I immediately had the body work repaired and painted. I drove the car around with the scoops and wheels and realized I wanted to make it a 340 clone .I pai the car 4 years ago looks really nice ( a few minor blemishes) . I rebuilt the engine stock bor, polished crank . New stock pistons, rings, purple cam Block was boile, new cam bearings, freeze out plug, header, custom 2” exhaust with flow-master 40’s . 727 torqueflite transmission completely rebuilt. 8.75 rear with 355’s completely rebuilt ( i also have 323 gears to go with it ) Brand new Holley750 vacuum secondary . Edelbrock air gap manifold. Front dis, power brakes, stainless brake lines, power steering, Ice cold A/C upgraded 134a system installed. Brand new dashpad, reupholstered front and rear benches, new carpet, sill plates . All rubber window gaskets and wiper gaskets replaced .Door handles, arm rests & much more replaced . I did all the labor over 4 years . Brand new Bluetooth kenwood stereo & new rear pioneer speakers. I installed aftermarket moulded kick panel 100 watt pioneer speakers as well . The center speaker was replaced when i did the dash pad but wasn’t necessary for this set up. Any questions i will gladly answer. I am looking for my dream car 1968-70 Dodge Charger . If you have a Charger in any condition that you are interested in trading, I am definitely open to it. Of course it wil have to work in the same ball park as what i am looking for this car . Thanks for looking . Wwill update with more pics when i have a min. These are what i had available.
