1965 Plymouth Belvedere 1 Description

If you are interested in bidding on the car and have 15 or less feedback, you need to contact me first. If not, then your bid will be retracted.

Up for bidding is a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere 1, the base model replacing the long lived Savoy model of past years. This model was used widely in Law Enforcement as marked and un-marked units. PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is a civilian model and not a police package car. My intent was to make it a Detectives vehicle but other priorities have taken place which is reason for the auction.

The car started life out in New York State originally then found it's way to Southern Calif. (Anaheim) for awhile. The car ended up on the Central Coast for the past 25 years or more. That owner passed away during the summer of 2017 and was placed in storage. The County Sheriff's Dept., sold the vehicle as a personal property sale in October of the same year. The odometer is showing 53K but cannot verify if this is correct or has turned over.

The paint is the original color dark blue(EE1) but unknown ifa repaint occurred and still has shine. The car came with the original 273 V-8 2V carb and single exhaust. the 3rd owner added a 4V carb, finned valve covers, un-silenced air-cleaner and dual-exhaust giving the car the Barracuda Formula Sappearance.

The car runs and sounds very healthy, shifts fine and has good brakes. Steering and brakes are MANUAL. Owner added a trans cooler and electric antenna. Original radio powers up but no sound. The ignition switch became loose and reason for the hole in the dash. I have the retaining ring and will attempt to reattach.

The bumpers, grill, bezels are in nice shape as is all the glass. The car has rust in both front fenders at the bottom and the rear quarter panels, lower and all repairable. There is bubbling above the upper trunk lid just below the rear window, but none around the window itself. The trunk had crusty rust which I wire brushed and treated with acid gel. This explains the white color in the photo. Rust did not penetrate thru the trunk pan itself.

Floor pans and firewall are rust free. Headliner, door panels, carpeting and dash in nice shape. The seats are ok but were changed to a non-original fabric material and has several small tears. Front and rear passenger doors are tight to open and probably just need lubrication. Driver and passenger doors are fine and do lock.

All the gauges work as well as the lights and wipers. Car pulls to the right and had the techs check the front-end which is still in good condition with normal wear. The problem is the tires are almost 15 years old and are out of round causing the pull. Another set of tires will correct the problem. Heater core apparently does not work but have another one.

The 3rd owner collected over $1200-1500.00 in additional parts over the years. There is just way to much to list. I have an inventory of all the items and are boxed and labeled. If you want to knowa specific part, e-mail or call. Registration was just paid and is good thru Feb. 2020.

I like the style of the car and it runs well, but again, priorities take center stage. I have placed a reasonable reserve price on the car based on overall condition. Check my feedback and if any questions, either Email or call (408)448-1717.

I accept Paypal for a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 and must be received within 24 hrs at the close of auction.Balance can be made with cash in person, a cashier's check and/or money order. Winning bidder is responsible for their own shipping of the vehicle. Thanks for your interest and good luck.
