1970 Plymouth Road Runner 383 4 speed, Open RE, Used, Good As Is or RESTORATION
1970 Plymouth Road Runner Description
FOR SALE from the MOPAR lovers at NAMCmopar: Up for sale we have a customers 1970 Plymouth RoadRunner 383 4 speed (PISTOL GRIP HURST SHIFTER) with 323 open rear end. Odometer reads 67,428.6 so is that probably means 167,428.6? We will guess it's rolled over to be on the safe side. Our customer purchased this ride about 1 year ago with plans of full restoration... unfortunately life got it the way... his parents both became ill and passed away this month, within hours of each other. It's time for this project to go to another home, his life has drastically changed and restoring a show car is no longer in the cards...
This is a rare, hard to find, good used running vintage collector car with straight body, nice vinyl roof, nice headliner, nice interior, good glass, good tires, dual exhaust. Runs and drives, starts right up with no problems when moving the car around the shop yard using Reverse, 1st. On the open road there are some shifting issues with this transmission linkage, it's probably out of adjustment. Engine does not smoke, no rattling or grinding, no exhaust blow out noise. Photos look nice, but we will not lie, car does need work to be show car quality. Not the original engine in car, looks like a 1968 block going by the casting number. We believe this car could use a new paint job and some rust repairs in engine compartment, rear window corners, and a couple wheel lip surrounds. Look at the photos closely - we have many more photos than displayed on eBay.
NAMCmopar has changed out the trunk floor, painted the trunk, re-sprayed the trunk lid underside, replaced the fuel tank and fuel sending unit. As typical, someone has changed out the seat covers to look very nice, but the original driver seat is sacked out, so someone skipped that step, needs to be opened up and new foams added for lumbar comfort. Looks like original carpet, it's faded and car has thick rubber mats protecting carpet surface from abuse. Door windows are hard to crank, that's very typical as the rollers and mechanisms get gunked up with grime and dust...
Hemi Orange car color is bright and the car looks really fantastic from 10, 20 feet away but looking close the flaws of this beauties age is apparent. Someone needs to buy it and love it some more.
