This "Duster 340" 4-speed is a well documented and nicely restored example that has been decoded by Govier. The Build Sheet copy and the Fender Tag Decode Document by Govier are with the car and included with the sale. Overall, it has a "Show Quality" appearance, and, offers the advantage of being an excellent "driver" too. We know you'll be impressed. The seller tells us that he has owned this one for about five years and states there will be "no disappointments". Built on May 1, 1970, this 1970 Plymouth "Duster 340" is an awesome example of the "compact" Plymouth Muscle Car.

The Plymouth Duster was introduced in 1970. Based on the Valiant, the two cars shared door skins and front end sheet metal. The Duster differed from the Valiant in that it featured a semi-fastback roof and a rear valence panel with horizontal taillights. The taillights were unusual in that they had no bezels. The Duster also had a more steeply raked windshield than the Valiant.

Nineteen seventy Dusters were available in standard Duster and Duster 340 models. Engine options included 198 and 225 cid Slant 6s and 318 and 340 cid V-8s.

A "Gold Duster" package was introduced in the middle of the model year. It came with either the 225 Slant 6 or 318 V-8. It also had special "Gold Duster" emblems, gold stripes, "wall-to-wall" carpeting, pleated vinyl seats, white wall tires, wheel covers and a vinyl roof. This package was offered through 1975,

Total sales for 1970 were 217,192 units, 24,817 of which were equipped with the 340 V-8.*
