1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe 6 cyl
1950 Plymouth Other Description
1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe
I've owned this car for about 8 years, have thoroughly enjoyed driving it on tours with my local club, and I hate to let it go. However:
About 3 years ago the engine developed a knock. I believe it to be a rod bearing. I parked it in the garage with every intention of fixing the motor so I could enjoy it again. Since then I've bought a few other antique trucks and cars. As evidenced by the photos this car was body worked and painted by an amateur, probably in the early 80's and has some issues. The interior, which is original, shows honest wear and most of the chrome shows pitting. Underneath shows some rust. Bottom line is that while presentable as a "20 footer" my interests now lie in more desirable vehicles and my attachment to this Plymouth is sentimental. While it deserves to be fixed up and enjoyed, I've decided to focus on restoring my pre-war Studebaker with the hope that another enthusiastic hobbyist will put the energy into making this car fun again.
If you want a show winning car at a bargain price, please do not bid. If you want an affordable, honest entry into the Antique Automobile Club of America's (AACA) Driver Participation Class (DPC) or a fun, comfortable car to tour with your local club or to hit the local cruise-in then you will be happy with my offering.
More pictures are available upon request, just let me know what you want to see.
Included with the sale of the car, if you want them, will be copies of this Plymouth with the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society's Nickel Plate Road #765 Berkshire steam locomotive, and details of the shoot. Please note, I'm including physical copies NOT the copyright.
