I really tire of terms like “Barn Find” and “tribute” so, The reality is I found this piece of Americana sitting in a lean-to with decades of “treasures” piled on and around it----And it shows.

The car is scratched, rock chipped, has dings and minor dents. The paint is worn through in several places. It is mostly original paint that has NOT been babied, and is 50 years old. The lower rear quarters have been replaced with fresh metal. The trunk floor will need replacement soon. The rest of the car looks solid – floor plans, rockers, cowl, door, fenders etc. are in good shape, doors open and close well, windows roll up and down. You really can't hide much under 50 year old paint – what you see is what you get.
The Engine-
Original 383 has been rebuilt at some point – the late 80's is my best guess. Pistons look to be cast and are stamped .030. Cylinder walls looked great – with no visible ridge. Oil Pressure 75 PSI cold. I installed “452” hard seat heads with stock 2.08 / 1.74 valves – fresh valve job w/ 30` back cut. Heads were cut .065 with a gentle angle mill – Compression remains @ the mid 10:1 range, and you can still put an out of the box intake on it. It uses pre '68 push rods with post '68 lifters and a small cut on the valve stems to maintain good valve train geometry. It has a mild 280/480 cam and comp valve springs and two row timing set. 70's vintage WEIAND 7501 Intake and Carter Comp 750 carb. Old Mallory Dual Point distributor w/ Pertronix Electronic conversion – and some 70's era Cal Custom valve covers, and custom Ram Air to complete the look. Mid length Hedman Headers w/ 2 ½ Mandrel bent exhaust and DynoMax stainless Ultra Flo mufflers comprise the exhaust.
New Mcleod Street Pro clutch kit; new aluminum radiator, and water pump installed at the same time as engine work all within the last 10 months.
The rear tires were new L60-15 PolyGlass Goodyears from 1978 I found at a garage sale – the fronts are F78-15 Carlisle with a very similar tread pattern – they drive terrible, and probably aren't safe, but they look perfect for the car so......
The brakes are original drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, springs and hardware are reasonably fresh and work well.

The rest of the suspension could stand to be freshened up (ball joints, tie rods, bushings etc) I put new KYB shocks on the front, it helped some, but still wallows through the corners, and wanders – modern tires would probably help.
Overall, it has been very dependable and fun to drive – If you want a flawless “Indoor Car Show” kind of vehicle, this isn't the one. It's more of a “Battle Scarred Warrior” type of street car that you can use outside. The uppity types walk by and look at it like they need to run off and get a Tetanus shot – but that's cool with me.

I have the original heads, 4 barrel intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, radiator, and 4 blade fan, that will come with the car. I also have an extra hood, fenders, and complete doors in great condition, that I will let go with the car if wanted.

I Have clear Wa. Title that was last issued in the 70's to who I think was the second owner, That was the last time it was transferred.
