You more than likely heard the phrase “A wolf in sheep’s clothing” and this automobile is the epitome of that. The 2 door sedan Belvedere is the sheep and the410 horsepowertwin 4 barrelcarbureted Max Wedge 413 engine is the wolf which made it one of the most exciting automobiles available at the time. Keep in mind, songs are only writtenabout cars that are worthy of recognitionand this one is no exception. “The Little Old Lady from Pasadena”and“Shut Down”featuring theSuper Stock 413arewell knownsongs – and here is the real thing! “Show andGo” - street or strip!
ThisPlymouthBelvedere is an unmolested 1962 Super Stock 413 that was freshened in 2004 mechanically(only 6000 miles have been added)and a repaint in the factory original colorof Sandstone beige. The plum and lavender interior is very tasteful in comparison to the “fifty shades of gray”that manyof these Super Stocks were producedwith. Everything else is mostly factory original including interior, chrome, factory exhaust headers,etc.Fullengine/drive train specs are with the car plusa copy of the IBM punch cardfrom ChryslerCorporation Historical Serviceswhich showsthe significant codes for the build of the car.
1962 wasthe first year for the production of factory Super Stocks and itwasn’t till mid model year whenshipments were made to dealers. So the result was the lowest production numbers for these fantasticMax Wedgeautomobilesand the only year model for the 413.The transmission is the venerableTorqueflitepushbuttonautomatic and the differential is the stock 3.91:1 Sure Grip. There is no power steering, no power brakes, and no radio.Performance was the focus of these monsters with no power robbing options and no unnecessary weight.
All books, manuals, and paper work comewith the car.
