1971 Plymouth Road Runner Description
This is a genuine Road Runner born with the very desirable N96 Air Grabber. Clean car from out west, looks like it has always been well cared for.
EXTERIOR: Genuine Green Go car, decked out with the air grabber sport hood and reflective decals over the roof. It has a great stance. The body is super clean and straight, fit and finish is excellent. The paint is polished out very smooth and glossy. All along the bottom is smooth, no bubbles. Has 15 inch rims painted gloss black with the poverty hubcaps on BF Goodrich tires. Door jambs were painted, sill plates are new, weather strips are soft. The bottom door edge is super clean. The bumpers were really straight then triple chrome plated. The grill is excellent. The stainless trim is straight and polished, door handles look new.
INTERIOR: Looks like a very good original interior, well maintained. The dash pad is professionally restored. The instrument panel is excellent, nothing's cut or broken. Seats are in real good shape, center console is not beat up. Door panels are very good original. Carpets were replaced. Has seat belts front and back. New headliner, missing the visors.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a 1969 383 that's been rebuilt. Upgraded with an Edelbrock Torker intake with Edelbrock carb. The air grabber induction system is complete and functional. The motor is real clean, has new chrome valve covers. Painted up nice, all the pulleys and brackets are clean. Wiring is run neatly. It features power steering and power brakes. Upgraded aluminum radiator with an electric fan keeps it cool. The metal engine bay is are clean and straight, it's been painted the body color. The VIN number on the core support, cowl and fender tag match the dash and the door jamb.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Absolutely rock solid, super clean metal. The quarter panels look original. It's all been painted the body color. New weather strip and grommets.
UNDERSIDE: The bottom of this car is completely restored. Starting up front- all new steering and suspension. Ball joints, bushings, shocks, tie rods etc. In back it has lowering blocks, new shocks. The brake system system was restored. Upgraded with Wilwood drilled and slotted discs in the front, stainless lines and hoses. Bottom of the motor is real clean, starter looks new. 727 automatic is clean, looks fresh. DTS remanufactured Dana 60 rear end with 3.73 posi. Fuel system was replaced-new tank, straps and sending unit. Has a great sounding new dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The metal under this car is really impressive. The factory floor pans, frame rails, inner rockers, lower rear quarters all look to be clean original metal. It's so nice they prepped it and painted it gloss black.
This is a rare car you dont see often. They claim it has always been a well cared for car. I would agree, the interior backs up that claim. The clean metal does too. It will certainly turn heads!
