1971 Plymouth Cuda (Barracuda) with 440 4-barrel engine and console shift automatic transmission. Car is 100% complete and in excellent working condition. It looks great on the street to enjoy as-is or would make an excellent candidate for a restoration or resto-mod project. Car has spent most of its life in Southern California, ear San Diego, ntil 2013 and is a rare example of a rock solid Cuda. Exterior
Cuda has all of its original panels and one repaint (exterior only). Brown metallic is slightly darker than the original factory autumn bronze metallic. Front fenders are absolutely solid and rust free with no rust in the headlight bucket area. Fenders have been gilled. There is no rust or swelling in the bottoms of the doors, nly rust is in the lower front corner of the drivers door. Chrome driver side door mirror is a nice clean original with minor pitting. Both rocker panels are solid.Rear quarter panelshave typical E-Body rustin front andbehind the wheel opening. Dutchman panel between the rear window and trunk lid is rusted through along the lower chrome trim. It appears that someone taped the lower rear window trim onto the car and it held moisture against the panel. Cuda rallye hood is a nice clean original with light dents and dings. It has been blasted clean, prayed with epoxy primer, nd painted matte black. Cuda hood inserts are very nice with no damage and all mounting posts intact along with the grille inserts. New hood pin kit. Front and rear valence panels are new. Cheese grater grille is also new with new grille screens and chrome trim. Valence mounted park light lenses are NOS. Taillight lenses, hrome bright work, nd housings are very nice. New chrome around tailpanel. All lights and side markers work and operate properly. Bumpers are straight with fair chrome and would be perfect candidates for rechroming. New windshield installed and the rest of the glass is nice with minor scratches from normal use.
Interior
Most of the interior is new as the California sun had dried out the seats and faded the carpet. All new seat upholstery by PUI, ew Tuff Grip steering wheel, ew carpet andNOS sill plates, ew headliner and package tray speaker panel. Door panels are nice originals and the passenger door panel has some chalking along the top. Dash pad is very nice with no cracks around the speaker opening. Only damage is to the left front corner where someone must have bumped into it and cracked it out. Center console is perfect with no cracks or damage. Does not even have the typical crack to the left of the shifter opening. Gauges are nice and all instrument lights work, s well as the ash tray, hifter, lovebox, nd overheadinterior light.
Trunk
Trunk floor is all original and very solid. It would easily pass a screwdriver test. Only rust is at the bottom of the trunk latch support where the factory piled on the seam sealer and it held moisture. Deck lid is in very good condition with no damage and no swelling of the rear lip. Deck lid go-wing brackets are correct for 1971 model. Correct, ew, ubber-style trunk mat.
Engine andDrivetrain
440 enginedated 3-1-71 was a running take out from a a 55,000 mile car. New camshaft and lifters, iming chain and gear set, igh volume oil pump, ater pump, -quart oil pan, nd a complete gasket and seal kit were installed. New 26" aluminum radiator. HP Magnum exhaust manifolds and new 2-1/2" exhaust with mufflers and stainless steel tips. New gas tank and fuel sending unit. Rear axle is an 8-3/4 with 3.23 sure grip. Car has power front disc brakes and all brakes have been rebuilt
Engine Compartment
There's no rust at all underneath the hood. Cowl is rock solid and dry with no swelling in any seams. Inner fenders are rust free, ven in the hood hinge area and along the top of the shock towers.
Underneath
Car came with factory undercoating and has perfectly solid floor pans with no rust or previous repairs. Rear outer wheel wells are solid with no rust or swelling along the wheel opening. Driver's side trunk extension is solid and passenger's side extension is rusted along the bottom edge. All frame rails are absolutely solid, traight,and rust free with no swelling anywhere. Car has never been wrecked.
Wheels and Tires
Wheels are 15x7 rallyes with correct bullit-style center caps in dark argent and new trim rings. Wheels have some pitting and could be blasted and re-painted. Tires are like-new BF Goodrich T/A Radials
