I BOUGHT IT FROM AN OLDERGUY WHO WAS DESPERATE TO SELL IT BECAUSE HE WAS GOING TO LOSE IT IN THE DIVORCE. HE HAD TWO 72 BARRACUDAS, ONE CUDA 340 AND ONE BASE 318 FOR HIS WIFE.
HE HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH HIS 72 CUDA ONE NIGHT WHEN HE WAS OUT WITH HIS WIFE DRINKING. HE THEN TOOK THE ENGIN, TRANSMISSION AND REAR FROM THE DAMAGED CUDA AND INSTALLED THEM IN HIS WIFES 318. HE ALSO SWITCHED ALL EMBLEMS AND ALL TRIM PIECES AND DID A MAACO RESTORATION AROUND 1992/1993.
THE CAR SINCE THEN HAS BEEN DRIVEN AND MAINTAINED UNTIL HE PARKED IT AND IT STOPPED RUNNING ABOUT 5/ 6 YEARS AGO.
I BOUGHT FROM HIM AND HE TOLD ME HE THINKS IT WAS JUST THE FUEL PUMP FROM SITTING. DIDNT HAVE BRAKES EITHER.I TOOK THE CAR AND CHECKED IT AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP FOR ANOTHER ONE THAT COST ME 25 DOLLARS. I REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER. I CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR AND DID BRAKES ALL AROUND PLUS THE BRAKE LINES.
THIS CAR TURNS HEADS EVERYWHERE I GO, I GET THUMBS UP FROM A LOT MORE EXPENSIVE CARS.
I HAVE A NEW IGNITION SWITCH THAT I HAVENT INSTALLED YET BECAUSE ITS STILL WORKING ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES IT ACTS UP.
THIS CAR IS ORIGINAL AIR CONDITION BUT ITS BEEN TAKEN OFF SINCE THEY DID THE SWAP BUT ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS ARE THERE.
THE ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE AND JACK ARE THERE TOO.
I HAVE THE BUILD SHEET AND EVERYTHING THAT CAME WITH THE CAR.
