1949 Plymouth Other Description

Up for NO RESERVE auction. This will sell to highest bidder.
1949 Plymouth Deluxe 2 door. A little background on this car. My grandpawas a car guy and bought this off his buddy which wasORIGINAL owner approx. 40 years ago. My grandpa had it painted, interior, and chrome work doneapprox. 20 years ago.Always a California vehicle that's been well taken care of, no accidents and garaged at least the last 40 years. As far as paint its not perfect small chips that are touched up, surface scratches, 1 paint dripbelow antenna, dings here and there.A good color sand and buffcould take care ofsome of that. That being said it looks very good for its age and has a nice shine. Interior is clean, a couple scuffs barely visible on the side of driver sea, headliner is coming down atback window not a hard fix. Chrome and stainless very nice with few dings, pitting and minor peeling. Two of the windows have small cracks, not really noticeable unless your looking for thembut its flat glassso easy to get cut. Goodyear tires with good tread and a matching spare.Car is complete. Tail light lensesareNOS.Weather stripping is good, could use new rubber at the wing windows. Built in center consolethat housesheat/ac controls and Kenwood cd player with 4 speakers throughout. Seat belts front and rear. Wiper motor not hooked up should need just a vacuum line. Windows roll up and down good, doors open and close good. I have no key for doors or trunk but do have one for the gas cap, glove boxand ignition. Has the well known ribbed bumpers everyone throws on their customs. Car gets a lot of attentionwherever it goes.
Now for the kicker. This is not grandma's grocery getter. When I picked up the car it just was notup to my mechanicalliking. I rather drive a classic than dust it off and look at it. A ton of work has been done to bring this car up to today's driving, handling and dependability standards. My intention was to keep the original look. Here is what has been done. I purchased a excellent running low mileage(40,000) 2003 Chevy S10 and swapped everything over. Been built and driven this way foryears. I have used Ranger frames, Mustang 2 frontends and Camaro frontends on buildsbut will only use S10 frames these days because theyhave asolid/tightfeeling.
Around 49,000 miles on it nowand can be proven by original S10 odometer. This drivetrain set up has a lot of life left in it. S10 parts are available almost everywhere and are inexpensive.
S10 frame, boxed, c notched, bagged rear(no compressor) manual fill air valve no leaks, 4 linkwith panhard bar, drop spindles and lowered springs in front, new bushings through out. It sits a little lower than a stock 49 would. Will lay on frame ifYOU completethe bag set up in front, add compressor and all that stuff.
S10 cluster and steering columnwith 3 spoke steering wheel. Horn, headlights, blinkers, tail lights, hazard, back up and dome lights work. All lights are bright. All gauges work properly.
All S10 air conditioningandheating components were used. Ac could use a charge.
S10Power steering is tight, power ABS disc brakes front anddrums in therear make it stop on a dime. Stock older powder coated Plymouth wheels used with adapters. Dog dish caps are not mint condition.
S10 Fuel injected Vortec v6 all stock untouched from air cleaner to tailpipe. Runs quiet can hear the hum of theelectric fuel pump over the motor. PCM has economy/ performance tune. Has OBD 2 port so any $20 code reader will work to trouble shoot or clear codes. No DTC present see cluster pic. Even though car doesNOT need to be smoged it would still pass.
S104L60E Automatic transmission. Rear end is geared for the highway, it does some mean 1 wheel burn outs though. Cruisesat 80 mph just fine (see the speedopic, it also shows mileage but that will go up slightly because I'm driving it till sells). Quickwith smooth shifting.
RCI 15 gal. Aluminum gas tank using S10 fuel pump. Complete S10 wire harness with 2 sets of fuse blocks.
Firewall moved to accommodatethings.Fabricatedsheet metaltunnel in floor for driveshaft, raised floor in trunk for c notch and removable sheet metal to accesssuspension, hood has pins and lifts off.Hitch welded to frame with trailer light plug. Good for hitting the swap meets with a trailer or towing a Harley around.Runs cool and strong in the traffic on hotCali days. This ain'ta trailer queen its a driver. I take it all over the place never had an issue. Never left me stranded or feeling disappointed.Title in my name, registeredtill next year. Also will include a title that matches S10 drivetrain and frame(probably one of theonlysellersthat would provide that). Selling because I can use the $$$ to complete other projects. No sugar coatingdone on the description.Yes it needsverylittle workhere and there but nothing major. ThePlymouth is awesomeas is and that's the wayI drive it.
Check out the video. Its low quality because I used a vintage camera. It shows the engine bay welland the car making a few passes down the road.
