1948 Plymouth Woody Wagon
1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe Description
A really special, one family owner 1948 Plymouth Woody Wagon, with only 8855 documented miles since new. This Woody was placed into a garage in the late 1960's and used sparingly for a few years. The inspection sticker reads 1974. There is a vintage 1948 license plate on the car as well. The floors will need replacing, and the motor is currently not running. It was running when it was put away many years ago. Currently, I have the plugs pulled and the engine is loaded with mystery oil. The interior seats are near perfect. The interior headliner wood is beautiful. There is surface rust on some of the exterior metal panels, but no rust through spots. The wood is aged, and could use a refinishing, but it's all there, and I think it looks even better the way it sits today. The new owner will have a choice to make; restore it fully to show condition, or get it running and driving (safely), and drive it the way it is. For me, no choice at all ... running and driving and celebrate the beautiful patina.I think the pictures do a good job of showing all of the wood on the body. It's in very good condition with no signs of rot. There is some deterioration under the sun visor, where the weather has effected the material on the roof, and there is some evidence of minor wood damage along the base of the front of the roof. This Woody comes with boxes of additional parts and a lot of paperwork showing provenance. Please remember, this Woody has only 8855 miles on it, so if you're planning on bidding, be someone who will find the time to get this beauty back on the road ...There are boxes full of parts and even old wood pieces (inside door and exterior) that come with this car. As you can imagine, these parts are very hard to find, and add value to your purchase. All of the windows are in great shape. There is one crack on the rear side window (an internal to the glass crack). All of the chrome, except for the bumpers, is in amazing condition given the age of the car.The car is available for inspection, and in fact, I encourage this.I have all of the documentation for the mileage, and I'm happy to share that with you. There are a couple of boxes of paperwork that comes with this car as well.If you have any questions, or would like to schedule an inspection, please feel free to call me at 617-290-6853. With my house sale happening so quickly, the car has to move on to a new owner within a couple of weeks. If you'd like to make an offer, please give me a call. Thanks, Donnie
