THREE OWNER
1948 PLYMOUTH
SPECIAL DELUXE SEDAN
WITH 39,000 MILES
Engine: P15 747782
Serial No: 11939283
Body No: 500A264251
Built at the Lynch Road Assembly Plant in Detroit, Wednesday July 17, 1948.
This auction is for an exceptional 1948 Plymouth sedan.
The owner is only selling because his health problems make
it difficult to maintain this great P-15 example.
This is an unrestored original needing only minimal attention.
It is a strong-running P-15 with no mechanical issues.
It had one Airwing Grey repaint back in 1957.
Upholstery is very clean showing only wear on the front
arm rests. The photos will help you understand how really nice it is.
The woodgrain instrument panel looks absolutely new!
The only woodgrain deterioration is on the garnish molding where
the driver rested his arm. The original rubber mats were deteriorating
badly (seen in one older photo) and were replaced with carpet.
The body and stainless are straight withno rustproblems
in the body, rockers or floor. The pot-metal parts are excellent
with only occasional fine pits as the photos show.
Bumpers are bright without any damage.
As for attention needed, there is surface rust along
the floor at the trunk line. The weatherstrip has come off;
paint is chipped and is now showing some surface rust.
You will need to recover the arm rests and tuck in the
vinyl along the door bottoms in areas where it has slipped out.
Photos also show that there is a chip on the steering wheel.
The owner has not been able to address these areas.
Please call the owner Bob Greer at 586-294-2732
for further information or more photos. This P-15 is available
for viewing in St Clair Shores Michigan. There are not many
low-mileage originals left! It wouldbe worth
your while to visit, see and drive this Plymouth soon!
