Here is your chance to own a very rare 1965 Pontiac Bonneville documented by Pontiac Historic Services as to have come from the factory as described. It is a four speed manual floor shift bench seat car with special paint. One of only 205 manual shift 1965 Bonnevilles were made that year and a lot of those were 3spd. Maybe only less than 30-50 factory four speed 1965 Bonnevilles left the world. The paint code is "Special" an option that was offered to give a wider range of GM colors. The cowl tag has SPEC. on it where the paint code is. The color is a Chevy color-A deep emerald- green. The same color as the famous JOLLY GREEN GIANT GTO that was a promotional car used by Del Monte foods. This may have been some kind of promotional car as well. I have owned it for over twenty years and it has always been a lot of fun to drive around. It is loaded with the following options; Four speed muncie long tail manual transmission with the special bench seat shifter, Tachometer, In dash gauges ie; oil pressure and water temp. And they all work!, four way flashers, reverse lights, AM/FM (AM now), Reverberator, Power antenna, Rear Defrost-you can see the bank of switches under the dash in the pictures, Super cool eight lug wheels- and yes these are good ones that never gave me any trouble!- full tinted glass, Spec. paint- this also means that you can paint it literally any color of your choice and no one can tell it did not come like that!, Remote mirror, non-glare rear view mirror, visor vanity mirror, Delux reel out seat belts- these are chrome and pull apart in the middle not the end-, fender skirts, power steering, roof rail/reading + lights, and some other options (I lost the phs years ago) I think it had a wood wheel and posi traction too. It has been in storage since 2002. I did not evenvacuumthe interior so it can be detailed a lot more...Comes with a new wood kit for the dash from ames. BTW the dash chrome is great. Before starting it a few days ago I pulled the plugs and put marvel mystery oil in each cylinder gave it some fresh gas and when I turned the key it roared to life like I parked it yesterday. There is some blow by and it needs an oil change but runs and shifts thru all the gears just fine. Brakes need to be bled still but work a little and of course emergency brake is fine! There is some rust in the bottom of the rear quarters, but this is a California car and frame, floors, trunk pan are all excellent! It has a 1968 400 C.I. Engine from a Firebird- code YT which is a 330 H.P. 10.75 with 62 heads and is a nice strong engine. This came with a 389 4bbl. carb. code WE 333 H.P Engine I do have a 1965 WE short block that can be bought for an additional $600.00. If you want to return this car to the original factory specs. I have everything you could ever need as I am the owner of Pontiac Classics. The car comes with a NOS -slightlyused... quarter panel section I cut out of another Bonneville 20 years ago. This can be used to fix the rust on the drivers side quarter behind the rear wheel opening- as there is rust on the bottom of that qp-it does not need this whole piece but it is always nice to have more than less!. The passenger side qp has just a small amount of rust and can be fixed with a small 6-8 inch flat patch. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions.I have a thirty plus year collection of pontiac parts so if you need something please let me know and I will list it here on ebay for you. |
