1973 Pontiac Trans Am Description

All original unrestored 1973 Brewster Green Trans Am

Unfortunatly the time has come to list my 1973 Trans Am up for auction. The car is a numbers matching real 48 code Brewster Green 1973 Trans Am. It has the tan or “saddle” interior as it is called. It also has the 4 speed manual transmission. I have PHS on the car & it came with 6 options. The title is in hand & ready to be signed over to the new owner.

The good:

Car is original & unmolested unlike most of these cars we see today. Even all the vacuum lines, air cleaner ducts & shaker block off plate are still there & intact. Car still has the original exhaust, rear spiral shocks &floor matseven! The all original WW block still has its original untouched factory paint. Original 73 tail lens, wheels & trim, space saver tire, etc. It has been off the road since 1982 & in dry storage. The interior is in amazing shape. The exterior is in great shape. Paint is still very shinny & looks very good for a driver. Not trailer queen show quality by any means but very presentable. The trunk area, floors, cowl, etc. (all the typical rust / problem spots on these cars) is rust free on this one. There is only 3 small rust spots on thecar as seen in the pics. Like I said very solid. The grills, plastic, & chrome is nice as well. The car is extremely dry, no rot, no greasy mess & no oil leaks.

Things I have done since pulling it out of storage:

The battery was toast so that is new.

The alternator is new

The front left caliper is new

New spark plugs

New cap & rotor

New coolant system fluids (completely flushed & filled), upper & lower hose plus a newt-stat

Fresh oil change & filter

Carb rebuilt & tuned up

Things not original:

Leaf springs look to be heavy duty (stiffer) units.

Fronts shocks were replaced with the red (I think Koni) units I believe in 1981.

The car was repainted once some time between ~ 1980-1981.

Front air dam was cracked in the late 1970’s & replaced. I have original.

Alternator was replaced at some point in time. I do not have the original.

LF brake caliper was replaced. I have original.

Rear view mirror clouded up & replaced. I have original.

Left rear spoiler tip cracked & was replaced. I have original.

In 1976 an FM radio was put in along with rear speakers &in the door panels. In1979 that radio broke so the original stuff was put back in as the aftermarket radio went in for repair (but wasnever reinstalled). I have all the original & aftermarket parts.

The carb was rebuilt ~ 1978 & the shop returned a nice fresh 7043262.

A few things to note:

I want to show the car for what it is, not take misleading or low quality pics thensay the car is & perfect... I want a happy buyer.

Dash has a crack as seen in the pics

Drivers seat has a rip as seen in the pics

Drivers rear lower ¼ has some rust as seen in the pics

Drivers lower wheel well near door has a rust hole as rust as seen in the pics

Passenger side inner section of lower ¼ has some rust as seen in the pics

Master cylinder has a small leak at the seal

Like I said the car is not perfect by any means & I do not want you to think I am over stating anything. I want to be 100% open & as honest as I can be. It is a 104,000 mile all original driver type quality that has NOT BEEN MESSED WITH. It needs some things to be top notch but the good thing is it’s all there & she is a fantastic foundationfor a very rare car. I have heard less than 300 Trans Am’s were Brewster green in 73, even less with the 4spd & even less than that with the great looking saddle interior. How many do you think survived with all their original parts? How many have you seen like this for sale?

Don’t bid on it if you think it is some concoursesurvivor that needs nothing & you are getting the deal of the year. It is not that car, and it is not perfect. It is by no means apiece of s*&t either, but it is a greatcar at a good price!!! It does need some minor work to finish it off though. Put a few more dollars in & some sweat equity & you can easily have that rare green TA worth $50,000 to $60,000!!! This will be a quick sell as I’m not looking to get rich, just recoup the money I have in it. Ask any questions if you like, I will be happy to answer all. Come and look at it if you would like, you can drive it too. I just want a happy customer & a good home for my car (no “bow tie” guys allowed to buy it). I think this is a great investment & sweet T/A with out spending a ton of money. Almost forgot, yes it is fast!

Other stuff…

The most important thing is to have your $$$ lined up... If youstill need tohave permission from your wife don't bother me. Please, please, please, NO dreamers or BS bidders!!! Bid if you intend to buy. There is no "Buy it now" so you can stop everyone else from bidding on the car to then come look at it & offer less money b/c of a dirty tire or something ridiculous. No out of country bidders unless you contact me first & we talk. If you do get it I hold the car for 7 days to make sure the money has cleared. To show you are serious & a qualified buyer a $1000 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours after the end of the auction. No deposit, no info, no car, I leave negative feedback, & then I will re-list it ... Balance is due 7 days after auction ends. If you are sending an inspector for financing I will extend the date to 14 days as I know this does take some time. If certain things arise we will handle it accordingly but please be respectable & professional in the process. As long as you are honest & work with me I will do the same for you. The car is for sale locally & I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks & good luck to all on a great car.

NO RESERVE, The car will sell to highest bidder or if I get an offer I can’t refuse...

Thank you & good luck!
