FULFILL THAT NEW YEARS RESOLUTION TO MAKE SMART INVESTMENTS AND LIVE LIFE TO ITS FULLEST!!

Many of you know that in 1964 and 1965 the GTO was essentially an extension of the Pontiac Tempest line. The renowned and powerful GTO was merely an option in the Lemans Series, ven while the Lemans was merely a trim line in the Tempest. If a buyer checked off the W62 GTO option when ordering they got the 389 V8 under the hood. In addition you got dual exhaust, TO emblems in several places, on-functional hood scoops, nd other performance options that were optional if desired. The' 65 year had some slight changes to the body and the Tri-Power option was added. However, he GTO was still an option on the Lemans. Many of these cars have been "cloned" to GTO status over the years, ut this takes nothing away from the fact they are collectible either way. This gorgeous deep blue metallic 1965 that I am offering was originally a Custom Tempest that was completely upgraded to a GTO recreation at the time of restoration and given just about every option that would have been available. This includes a powerful 389 V8, he highly desired tri-power carburetor set up, nbsp;4-speed transmission, ower steering, ower brakes and air conditioning. However, f I did not say anything you and the experts would have a hard time knowing this was not a factory ordered GTO optioned car. This car received a professional restoration that has held up beautifully. I bought the car from a cattle farmer in Missouri who purchased it about 6 years ago. He believes he was the 3rd owner and was told that the low mileage of just over 62,000 miles was correct. The story was that the original owner passed away and the second owner bought the car and converted it to a GTO for his father. This was done about 10 years ago and his father drove the car very little. The gentleman I bought the car from had the correct 389 Tri-power motor and carburetors completely rebuilt. He also had a Muncie 4-speed rebuilt for the car and also had the a/c system completely gone through and refurbished. When it was all done in 2009 he thought he would be driving the car a fair amount but reality set in 6 years later and he decided it was time for the next lucky owner to enjoy it...maybe you?? The car looks gorgeous and runs fantastic!! As you will see, have documentation and receipts for the complete rebuild of the motor, ransmission, /c and more!! This baby is ready to hit the shows and the streets!! As with all of my classics, do have this car listed on several other sites in addition to my own. If you do not want another car gal or guy to beat you to this one feel free to contact me to discuss how we can put it in your garage before someone else scope it up. I will do my best to provide enough large images, video of the car running, nd an honest description to help you decide if this is the one for you. Sit back and enjoy!!
The previous owner believes the restoration to the body and paint were done about 10 years ago. As you will see the paint still looks fantastic and I recently had the car professionally wet sanded and buffed. I call the color a Dark blue metallic and /i believe it is very close to an original color called Nightwatch blue. The original color of this car according to the trim tag was ivory so I think it is fair to say this color is quite a bit more appealing on this car! Body panels line up great and it appears to have its original sheet metal. I do not see any bubbling or sign of rust anywhere along the body. All of the chrome, umpers, rim look fantastic. The metal tail panel inserts show some pitting under the black paint as is normal on these original pieces. There are a few very tiny chips that have been touched up but overall the paint looks awesome and has a beautiful shine and reflection. All of the weatherstripping appears to have been replaced and looks excellent. Windows all roll up and down nicely and the only flaw in the glass I noticed is a small chip in the windshield that was repaired by Safelite years ago. As you will see this car has a great stance and shouts 1965!!! You have to love the stacked headlights on this year. This car will win its share of trophies at the local shows if that is what you enjoy but it is definitely set up to drive and enjoy. I think the photo tour below of the body will tell you what you need to know. Have a look:

Complimenting the gorgeous dark blue metallic body is an awesome black bucket seat interior. Again, verything was done to resemble an authentic GTO with proper emblems and appointments. Bucket seats are very comfortable and seat belts for front and rear passengers were added. The door panels, ash pad, arpeting all look close to new. The seats are in great condition overall with just a few minor flaws. The rear seat has a small wear mark on the passenger side. The driver side seat back ( not the area you sit on) has a small hole on the back of the seat. The passenger seat has a small cut in it that has not gone through the seat but is noticeable on close inspection. Otherwise the interior looks awesome!! The center console is a correct '65 4-speed console with correct Hurst 4-speed shifter. GTO grab handle on passenger side of dash. The in dash gauges include a tachometer and a nice set of aftermarket gauges were added neatly under the dash to keep track of voltage, il pressure, nd temperature. A nice AM/FM/Cd was neatly mounted in the glove box with 6x9 speakers neatly mounted in the package tray, nd the original radio was retained in the dash. The headliner is white and is in excellent condition. Very nice woodgrain aftermarketsteering wheel. The car has correct Factory air conditioning that works and was refurbished and converted to R134 in Apri, 010 with receipts included. All of the other gauges and lights appear to be working correctly. Have a look inside:
Pop the hood on this '65 and you will again be convinced you are looking at an original GTO. The 389/338 hp V8 is a correct 1965 Tri-power motor. As you will see in the pics below it is a YG coded block which is correct for a '65 Tri-power motor. The previous owner decided to have this motor completely gone through and rebuilt. Receipts that are shown below and will be included that the motor was stripped to the bare block and completely rebuilt. This work was done in 2009 and there have only been about 2000 miles put on the car since then so this motor is fresh!! It is a relatively stock build so original estimated horsepower of 338 hp seems accurate. The tri-power carburetor set up was also completely rebuilt and tuned and works beautifully. When cruising you are running off the center 2bbl but when you mash the accelerator you will feel the additional 2 carburetors kick in!!!At the same time the motor was rebuilt, correct Muncie 4-speed was rebuilt and installed. All new clutch, ressure plate, hrow out bearings etc. have this 4-speed muscle car shifting through the gears nicely. Other items replaced were starter, oses and belts, hocks, prings and more! While this car has plenty of power it is also super easy to drive thanks to the power steering and power brakes which were all completely redone. It is power drum brakes but just tap the brake pedal and you will swear it is 4 wheel disc as it stops amazingly easy. The suspension was also completely gone through and is very tight. Rear end was also rebuilt and 3:23 gears allow you to cruise comfortably on the highway. This car handles the road beautifully! As you will see the engine bay was nicely detailed and you will be proud to pop open the hood at the shows and cruise-ins. The car is riding on a great looking set of correct Rally wheels with nice set of radials with piety of tread life left. I was tempted to go with Rally II wheels and redlines but this is a more correct set up for '65 and that is an easy change if the next owner wants to. Inside of trunk is rock solid and has a correct spare and jack. The floor pans are original and rock solid. They were lightly undercoated probably at the factory and still look great as does the frame. Take a look at the pics that follow and make sure you listen to the video of the car starting up and running.
