1986 Pontiac Fiero SE Description

New Page 1
I bought this car in 1995 (from the original -1st owner - a nice lady who drove it some 68K miles) and I took good care of it: kept it in a garage in WA state, used only synthetic oil, did not race it etc. It was not used for a few years and the fuel tank needs to be emptied, cleaned and it needs a new fuel pump (they go for $60). I had no engine trouble before the pump stopped working properly. (normally you can hear the pump in the 1st 2-3 seconds after turning the ignition key without cranking the engine) I put a voltmeter on the ALDL Connector pin: G (Fuel Pump Test near the cigarette lighter socket) and the voltage gets there OK so it is obviously a pump issue. Here in CA (San Diego -Imperial Beach) where I brought the car, I am not allowed to work on it (apartment buildings /city ordinance etc.) so if you the proper workspace and some 2 hours, this is easy.
<> you are getting a brand new battery: I bought it from a local dealer (supposedly much better than the ones at the local store) and I paid $100; I was hoping to get the fuel pump running with proper cranking voltage as they say that sometimes a good battery is what it takes.
The spare tire is like new (never used or installed)
<> important: California bidders, please note that you will need to install a CA catalytic converter: like this: Magnaflow 334006 Catalytic Converter California EBAY item: 191692271243

Price: $95.90

If your local laws require emission tests, it will probably be a good idea to get a new catalytic converter to make sure that the car will pass (WA state where the car was registered did not require such a test) it is a relatively small investment for this car model, and the existent one is old.
the interior is in decent shape considering its age. It has the original radio with graphic equalizer and all the car speakers are good. The front tires are in good shape, and it will need new rear tires.

For the low "buy it now" price here - it is a bargain. The car is worth much more but I must sell. Please consider the towing: tow dolly vs. flat tow. u-haul has both (for cheap), and the car is light. I used a flat car trailer to bring it to my current location as I cared about the car and letting it ride on 2 of its wheels all the way was not the best option for this nice classic.

The car is located in Imperial Beach - some 12 miles South of downtown San Diego. Click HERE to get directions and distance from your location

The seats have never been left without a seat cover. The original fabric was preserved “like new”
<>the small tare is because of some deign flaw where the (internal) metal frame is very close to the surface there, and they used a very soft protective foam inside. I can fix that for you.

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING
