1967 Pontiac Firebird H.O. 350 4 SPEED!
1967 Pontiac Firebird HO Description
Up for auction is my 1967 Pontiac Firebird with muncie 4 speed and posi traction. I bought this car June 19, 2013. It came from Florida and I had it shipped to me. When I got it, it needed a few things. I had to have the electric fan rewired and set up with a dial adjusted shut off as pictured. I have it set to come on at 190 degrees and the car get's no hotter that that. I drove it in the summer and it always stayed at 190 no matter how hot it was outside. Installed an H.E.I. ignition for easy starts and no hassling with points. I also had a new Kenwood am/fm single cd stereo with remote installed with 6x9 JL audio speakers on the deck lid and it sounds amazing! It also has AUX jack so I use my IPOD a lot while driving. I had all new window seals installed along with a new alternator and starter. All gauges work along with horn, wipers, lights, reverse lights and turn signals.
The 4 speed muncie shifts smoothly with no issues. The power steering makes it easy to handle. IT goes down the road straight. It has 4 wheel drum brakes and I had all the wheel brake cylinders rebuilt. I also had new urethane sub frame bushings installed. I also installed new rear bumper and had the paint wet sanded and it is smooth and real shiny. Starts right up with no problems and the electric choke functions as it's supposed to. This car has a smooth idle at 600 RPM once warmed up, and is ready to be driven anywhere. I buy cars, fix them up, keep them for a little while and then sell to get something else. I've owned this beauty for 4 years and it's time to let someone else enjoy it.
It is a lot of fun going through the gears as the motor runs flawlessly with no issues. It has a 350 H.O. chevy motor with the double hump fuelie heads and long tube headers. When I bought it, I was told the motor had only 5000 but I have no way of proving that. I can say that it does not smoke and I did take valve covers off and everything was clean as a whistle so I feel the miles of 5000 k were accurate. I put about 2000 miles on it so that would put the motor at about 7000 miles or so. The odometer shows 23,500. I have the Title and original owners manual. It does have a couple rust bubbles that are shown in the pictures that have not changed in size or shape since I've owned the car. The trunk area is very solid with no rust along with the 1/4 panels. I believe based on their condition that they were replaced at one time. I know I have done other things to the car but I wanted to cover the major thing's and what I have listed is what my memory will allow for at this time. So if you want a nice daily driver without breaking the bank, this is a great car! You can see for yourself what 67,68, numbers matching Firebirds are going for, so this is a nice car for the money.
