This build was inspired by the '55 Chevy in the movie Two-Lane Blacktop. Started with a super nice, CA blackplate rust free 1964 Tempest/Lemans.
This car gets a ton of attention, super fast, yet cruises nicely at just over 2100 rpm in OD. Ran low 12's last summer, maybe has 11's in it with more tuning. Alot of $$ spent.

TWO LANE BLACKTOP 2:
The 55 Chevy met it's demise on a rainy night when the driver had to put it in a ditch to avoid another vehicle. Not much was saveable so it was parked in 1974 in a barn on property owned by THE MECHANIC.
In 1972, the 55 took on a pretty fast 64 GTO for pinks, and won. The 64 was parked in the barn next to the totalled 55 for the next 40+ years.
THE DRIVER and THE MECHANIC reconnect and start thinking about the good old days. They decide to resurrect the GTO using parts from the 55 to carry on their mission to conquer the Two Lane Blacktop again. Not bad for home grown. It's alot more than that sonny. You wanna find out? Make it three yards and you got your self an automobile race.
