I bought this car for a parade and promo car when my friend was running for mayor. This is an attention getter and pure AMERICANA. It is a special car that is not for the purist but for someone who appreciates the looks while having modern amenities and reliability. The complete drivetrain from a 1987 GTA Trans Am was installed in this car. I owned an original 79 400 / 4 speed car and I can tell you this thing runs just as strong if not stronger. I know one thing, it starts immediately every time, it can sit in traffic all day, it can run all the electrical and never lose a charge and it cruises on the highway at 80 mph well below 2000 rpm. I put a couple of thousand miles on it and I have taken It on a one day cruise of over 500 miles. Never a hiccup. On a lonely stretch it hit 137 mph on GPS before I backed off. The speedometer is the only thing that does not work. It has the later electronic 700R4 and needs the older mechanical gear driven cable. This is a pretty simple conversion. This is not a show car. It is a very presentable driver quality weekender. I originally was going to keep it (forever?) but the old lady told me 6 cars in the garage in enough. So I am putting it up for sale. If you bought it you could drive it anywhere I would not hesitate for one second. I have spent money touching up bumpers, converting ac to R134, tuning, maintenance and cosmetics. Never needed a thing. I bought a Corvette servo and B&M shift kit that I never installed. I will throw it in. The spare is the original and all additional parts that were in a box go with the car. Great, great car.
