1968 Pontiac Firebird Description

This car is for sale in Wyoming. I wasted my time driving out there to go see it.
What the seller doesn’t reveal up front is that the car has rust cropping up everywhere. Wheel wells, rear window seams, trunk to window seams, from behind chrome trim everywhere, under windshield trim, both passenger and driver side quarters behind both wheels, under carpets, inside trunk. Paint cracking everywhere.
The engine bay looks like it was worked on by a drunk monkey. Engine hoses held together by black duct tape.
Body panels not aligned, indicative of a likely past collision followed up with terrible repairs.
Front coils springs hacked up leaving next to zero proper dampening up front.
Rear shocks shot, driving the car sounded as if there were bricks rolling around in the trunk
For a Pontiac 350 with a upgraded Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb with headers, you would expect to stomp the gas and GO. But no. Embarrassingly, my stock F350 Dually has more acceleration than this Firebird.
Brakes suck, but he did point out they are disc brakes up front.....I didn’t bother checking myself but it stopped like a stock front drums Firebird with worn brake.
Seats are all ripped up, headliner was installed by Stevie Wonder using Elmer’s glue. Carpet is trash.
If you don’t mind investing $10k+ at a minimum, and that’s conservative.... go for it. The car is worth $11-$12 max. I offered $8k to start with the intention to negotiate up to $11-$12k but the seller thinks he has a gold brick instead of the turd he actually owns.
