1971 Pontiac Firebird NONE Description

ONE OWNER 1971 PONTIAC FIREBIRD FORMULA ESPIRIT.
EVERY YEAR I SELL 1-2 FINE EXAMPLES OF CLASSIC OR ANTIQUE CARS OR TRUCKS OF EITHER MY OWN OR FOR MY CLOSE FRIENDS OR CAR CLUB MEMBERS THAT I KNOW VERY WELL AND HAVE KNOWN FOR MANY YEARS.
I WON'T LIST ANY AUTOMOBILES THAT WERE PURCHASED ONLY TO FLIP OR THAT HAVE BEEN OWNED FOR LESS THAN 10 YEARS AND MOST OF THEM INCLUDING THIS ONE WAS OWNER BUILT OR MAINTAINED AS THEIR PRIDE AND JOY. IF YOU LOOK AT MY FEEDBACK I SOLD A 1934 FORD TRUCK FOR $28,700.00 LAST FALL, A 1972 TR7 FOR $11,900.00 AND A BEFORE THAT A 1940 FORD DELUXE FOR $19,000.00 AND ALL WITH HAPPY BUYERS WITH GREAT FEEDBACK GIVEN SO DON'T BE SHY TO BID TO WIN.
WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS A BEAUTIFUL ONE OWNER PONTIAC WITH UNDER 64,000 ORIGINAL MILES. THE OWNER IS GETTING UP IN AGE AND WITH SEVERAL HEALTH PROBLEMS IS FOR THE MOST PART UNABLE TO DRIVE HIS BABY ANYMORE HENCE THE SALE.
THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN IN SNOW AND HAS NEVER SEEN BAD WEATHER. SINCE THE RESTORATION THIS CAR HAS NEVER EVEN BEEN DRIVEN IN THE RAIN. THIS IS AND HAS BEEN A RUST FREE BODY.

THIS FIREBIRD WAS USED AND ENJOYED UNTIL 1983 WHEN IT WENT INTO THE GARAGE FOR STORAGE UNTIL 2000 WHEN THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED, COMPLETELY STRIPPED BY MEDIA BLASTING WITH HONDA RECTANGULAR DOOR HANDLES ADDED, ALL LOWER TRIM WAS REMOVED ALONG WITH THE DRIP RAILS. THE ENGINE WAS UPGRADED WITH A PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT 4 BOLT MAIN 455 HP MOTOR. THE 455 WAS A PRETTY LOW MILE ENGINE THAT DID NOT NEED TO BE BORED AND A PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT 700 R4 WITH A 370-1 10 BOLT POSI REAR END. IN 2009 HE HIT A DEER RETURNING FROM A CAR SHOW SO SEVERAL FRONT PANELS WERE REPLACED AND AGAIN THE ENTIRE CAR WAS PROFESSIONALLY REPAINTED BACK TO THE RESTORED COLOR. THE PAINT AND BODY WORK FROM 2000 UP TO NOW IS BABY SMOOTH WITH NO FLAWS AND WITH NO ORANGE PEEL. JUST A TRULY BEAUTIFUL COLOR AND CAR WHICH IS ALWAYS GARAGE KEPT. THIS CAR WILL SET YOU BACK IN THE SEAT EASILY AND STOP JUST AS QUICK.

THE INTERIOR WAS ALSO COMPLETELY RESTORED INCLUDING NEW SEAT UPHOLSTERY FRONT AND REAR,PACKAGE TRAY, CARPET,HEADLINER,ARM RESTS ECT. PURCHASED FROM CLASSIC INDUSTRY'S BACK IN THE DAY. THE ONLY PIECE MISSING IS A RADIO DELETE PLATE SINCE A MODERN RADIO CD PLAYER HAS BEEN MOUNTED UNDER WHERE THE STOCK RADIO WAS. THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO 134A YEARS AGO AND STILL HOLD A GOOD CHARGE. 2-3 YEARS AGO THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT, BALL JOINTS, CENTER AND TIE RODS ECT. WITH SLOTTED ROTORS AND CERAMIC PADS. BESIDES THE FLOOR MATS BEING A LITTLE DUSTY THE INTERIOR IS EXCELLENT.

THE REBUILD ON THIS CAR WAS FINISHED IN 2004 WITH ONLY 7000 MILES PUT ON SINCE THAT TIME.
THIS CAR IS BEAUTIFUL AND EVER SO CLOSE TO BEING A IMMACULATE SHOW CAR SO IT NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS A DRIVER AND NOT A TRAILER QUEEN. YES, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN TREATED WITH THE UPMOST CARE AND PRIDE AND NEVER A DOLLAR SPARED IN ANYTHING THAT WAS DONE TO IT BUT YOU WILL SEE A SMALL PAINT CHIP ON THE DRIVERS LOWER DOOR JAMB, THERE IS A TINY PAINT CHIP IN THE PASS. DOOR AND I AM SURE THAT IT HAS A FEW CHIPS IN THE FRONT BUMPER GRILL ASSB. THAT I DIDN'T NOTICE. ALSO THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR WORKS FINE BUT SOME OF THE BLEND DOORS QUIT FUNCTIONING IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND HAVEN'T BEEN LOOKED AT, AND THE POWER DOOR LOCK FOR THE RIGHT DOOR QUIT WORKING AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS DUSTY.

I FIRST SAW THIS CAR IN 2006 AND HAVE SEEN,RODE IN AND HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR AND WHILE I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL Z-28'S TO COMPARE THIS CAR TO MINE HAVE NEVER COME CLOSE TO THIS CAR.
WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOORS THEY ARE SOLID WITH A PERFECT FIT, NOT LIKE ANY OF THESE BODIES WHEN THEY BECAME 4-5 YEARS OLD I NEVER DID LIKE THE SOUND OR FIT FROM THE GENERAL DOOR SAG THAT IS ALWAYS A PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS, BUT NOT WITH THIS ONE.
THIS PONTIAC RUNS, DRIVES AND LOOKS LIKE A NEW CAR WITH PLENTY OF POWER TO HAVE SOME FUN IF DESIRED.

FOR THE RECORD IN THE EARLY 1970'S THE TITLE WAS TRANSFERRED TO HIS BEST FRIEND'S NAME WHEN HE WAS CALLED TO SERVE IN VIETNAM FOR INSURANCE REASONS AND LATER IN THE 1970'S TO HIS BROTHER FOR MARITAL REASONS FOR A SHORT PERIOD AND BACK TO HIS OWN NAME UNTIL 2000 WHEN HE ADDED HIS BROTHER FOR SINCE THEY ARE GETTING UP IN AGE IN CASE ANYTHING SHOULD HAPPEN.
AS WITH ANY CLASSIC OR ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE THIS LISTING IS BEING SOLD AS IS.

I AM ALSO WELL VERSED IN DEALING WITH OVER SEAS BUYERS AND HELPING WITH THEIR TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS.

SO HERE IS A PRETTY RARE CHANCE TO OWN A WELL KEPT AND CHERISHED FORMULA.
PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR A BUY IT NOW PRICE OR THE RESERVE AMOUNT. THIS CAR WILL RUN THE ENTIRE LISTING.

HAPPY BIDDING!

I NOTICED ON #7 PICTURE WHAT LOOKS LIKE A SCRATCH ABOVE THE DOOR HANDLE WHICH IS ACTUALLY A REFLECTION FROM THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR.
I SHOULD ALSO MENTION THERE ARE MANY YEARS OF RECEIPTS THAT WILL GO WITH THE CAR INCLUDING COMPLETE MOTOR REBUILD,INTERIOR ECT. DATING BACK MANY YEARS.
