1969 Pontiac LeMans 66530 Miles Red Convertible 350 V8 Automatic
1969 Pontiac Le Mans -- Description
The Le Mans name first appeared in 1961 on GM's new compact Y-body platform as a upscale trim package. By 1969 the name had been plastered on Pontiac's formidable mid-size sedans coupes convertibles and wagons. Available with GM's durable 350cid V8 the engine produced a solid 265hp in 2bbl trim. With an available 3-speed automatic it was far from fast but was a well rounded and well built vehicle. Our Matador Red over white convertible is an excellent driver and represents a great example of a... well sorted classic. With the all original numbers matching 350cid V8 2bbl with 265hp and the original automatic transmission the car starts right up and the transmission shifts very smooth. According to the current owner who had the car for 29 years the engine was treated to a full overhaul around 12 years ago and that appears to be accurate. Additional the owner claims that the car has newer brake discs pads and wheel cylinders. The car features a new convertible top rechromed front bumper and rocker panels rebuilt carburettor replaced master cylinder new interior carpet and more with most of the work completed in 2012. With no sheet metal replaced or repaired the car has very original bodywork and paint that shows well but isn't show quality. The interior is also in good shape with all original parts and what appears to be fully functioning instrumentation. The white seats have some discoloration that seems reasonable for a 1969 convertible. A well optioned car it features power brakes with front discs working air-conditioning power steering working heater and two sets of keys. The car cruises nicely with no shake or wobbles. The suspension is smooth and soaks up bumps very well. While far from a show car this example features some very charming patina and is mechanically sorted. An excellent driver this car is ready to enjoy another life with its next owner. To see over 80 photos of this car including under carriage please visit our website
