1955 Pontiac Chieftain 2 door.
Original 287 V8 with newly rebuilt original automatic transmission by previous owner (3200.00).
Good-
-Frame is solid
-Have all parts and chrome pieces
-Transmission has been newly rebuilt (3200.00 paid for that)
-Rebuilt Carburetor
-New pan gasket
-New pinion seal in differential
-Rear main engine seal has been upgraded to a lip style seal instead the old rope seal
-Engine has been fully tuned/timed
-Runs and drives very well, like a 55 Pontiac should
-choke works well, starts right up no matter how cold
-engine runs cool
-new brake system by previous owner, stops well for original drum brakes
-very good tires
-quiet exhaust
Bad-
There's rust on the body here and there, some scratches, dings, etc from age and use, it will need to be repainted for show or rat it as is.
Interior is decent but needs to be fixed up in places, presents nicely as is, great for a daily driver.
Horn doesn't work
Wipers work, but slowly, these are original vacuum operated
Heater works, but blower is weak, but switch and motor do work
Emergency brake does not work
All in all, the car is a great rat rod or driver as is or restore. Great overall mechanically.
Very low reserve for a dependable as is daily driver 1955 Pontiac. I bought to drive, but found another car on my bucket list and need to sell this one. My loss is your gain. Fly in and drive home, if your adventurous.
