1989 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Turbo Pace Car Description

Fully optioned and incredibly preserved this pristine Pace Car is 1 of only 1555 TTAs produced. And whether you're looking for a unique collector car that has some serious upside or just a choice ride to cruise to Radwood it's your chance to become the king of cool! Capitalizing on two decades of excellent sales and record promotion of its reinvigorated branding Pontiac kicked off the Trans Am's 20th model year with a replica of their coveted Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. In addition to functional... and by Pontiac standards conservative aesthetics the car featured a bolder version of Buick's buff turbocharged 3800 V6. And like its GNX predecessor the Turbo Trans Am punched way above its class clocking 60 MPH in 4.6 seconds on the way to an artificially limited 162 MPH top speed. Pop the hood and you'll find GM's venerable 3800 V6 that thanks to a Garret turbo twists a seriously underrated 250 horsepower into a seriously underrated 340 lb./ft. of torque. Behind that mill a trusty Turbo-Hydramatic 200 4-speed spins a requisite 10-bolt axle. Under that first-class drivetrain a familiar WS6 Suspension makes excellent use of a standard 1LE Brake Package. And at the corners of the car attractive GTA alloys spin 245/50ZR16 Goodyear Eagle ZR50s. Between the doors optional leather buckets front GTA and TTA-exclusive split rear seats. Opposite those seats delightfully '80s gauges complete with a small boost inset inhabit a blocky dash that's free of warps and cracks. Below that dash a factory console frames a short T-handle shifter. And in front of the driver a leather-wrapped Sport Steering Wheel cages redundant audio controls. If your definition of classic Detroit muscle is a highly accurate beautifully presented meticulously crafted Pontiac it's your lucky day! Call click or visit for more information.
