1972 Pontiac Catalina Description

1972 PONTIAC CATALINA CONVERTIBLE - RARE!

1972 was the last year for the convertible for the Pontiac Catalina. These Catalina's are becoming highly collectible. They only made 2,399! You can't even find one on the internet! This is a ONE OWNER carandwas purchased new in 1972 at Dan Wolf Pontiac in LaGrange,Illinois. It is still owned by the same owner!

It has the 400 cu. in., 2bblV8 mated with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The car hasn't been on the road since 2006. The owner has asked me to get the car running andmake a list of what it needs. I did get the car running, but it will need a master cylinder. I did install a brand new battery in it last week. The power convertible top is disconnected and does not operate. There is a hole in the top and would need to be replaced. The power seats operate and the power windows work but very slow. The floor pans are still solid. The trunk pan is thin in spots. The interior is still in decent shape with a tears on the driver and passengerseat areas. The A/C compressor and system will need to be gone through and serviced. The spare tire and jack assembly are still in place.

There's no doubt that this Catalina will need a complete restoration to bring it back to the way it looked in 1972. But the new owner can go as far as they want to make this rare Catalina look the way they want to. Like I said, they only produced2,399 of these convertibles and this was thelast year for them. This wouldmake a great project car to put a little money into it and make a nice return on their investment. I have the original Bill of Sale from Dan Wolf Pontiac, the Protect-O-Plate, warranty book and other receipts.

The owner of this Catalina is also sellinga 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible that he purchased new and a 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Limousine. I have these listed on ebay now as well. All three have very low reserves! Don't miss out on this great opportunity to purchase all three cars at a great price. They're alllocated in one spot so pick up will be easy on the transporter.
