1970 Pontiac GTO Description

This one a kind 1970 GTO convertible has been updated with a LS1 fully fuel injected engine and a 4L60E overdrive transmission. It retains its original 3.08 rear axle ratio giving this GTO great highway manners while obtaining 25 MPG, and excellent street drive ability. This GTO is without a doubt faster than original 400 cubic inch gas guzzling 350 H.P. mill that used to sit between the fenders. The car was recently Dyno Tuned and Makes 348 H.P. and 379 Ft. Lb.’s of Torque AT THE REAR WHEELS! This car can sit in 100 + degree temperatures, in stop and go traffic with the air on and cruise set and still run at a cool 190 degrees. The A/C system has been fully updated with a full 134A conversion including a new parallel flow condenser and Sanden compressor. The rest of the system was pressure checked for leaks vacuum tested and charged. It is a complete blend of new and old technology that meshes together flawlessly. The sound system wasn’t left alone either. It has also been updated with front and rear speakers and a AAR head unit that is Bluetooth capable and XM satellite ready, while looking like a factory AM/FM radio. The beautiful interior has received a full brand new Legendary interior both front and rear seats and door panels. Since the car left the dealership it spent all of it’s time in the rust free south. The undercarriage still retains the original undercoating over the original rust free metal. The entire undercarriage has been recoated in a two part highly durable satin black epoxy coating. Which is highly detailed and is as show ready as the stunning Black exterior. It also has been upgraded with cross and drilled front rotors and semi-metallic brake pads. The console has been retrofitted with a Shiftworks detent that shows and correctly engages all the gears of a modern day overdrive transmission. The beautifully painted 15” Pontiac Rally 2 wheels have been wrapped with Coker Wide Oval Radials that help this GTO not only retain a stock look but drive like a modern vehicle. This is a Real GTO and not a Tribute, Recreation, or other fancy words for a Lemans with a GTO nose and fenders. The car was not modified to an extent that wouldn’t allow someone to put a Pontiac 400/TH400 back into the car. This car was built for the person who wants to look like they’re driving a 250K plus 1970 Judge Convertible while enjoying all the technology that has been accomplished in the last 48 Years. A real 242 GTO Convertible will always have an Investment Quality, therefore your money will always be safe parked in this car. The car is currently consigned to a dealership in sunny Tempe, Az we brought it down to use a display vehicle for our booth at Barrett-Jackson. We left it with some dealer friends of ours being the car was more at home with the top down in AZ verses the cold salt filled roads of IL. Thanks for looking and feel free to give us a call at (779) 552-8766 with any questions. The car can be seen in person at Day and Night Truck sales in Tempe, Az phone number (602) 292-8343.
