No rust/ rot. California car
Solid driving car. Runs very strong.Car has been gone through, sorted and serviced.
An honest turn key and go car.Original electrical harness is not messed up if one wants to reinstall factory gauges. 3 toggle switches were for future additions that never materialized.
Can email more pictures. Have over 100 on file.
This is a well built car you can enjoy now.
Body:Originallya Firebird Esprit that was redone in the mid 2000's. Formula hood and spoilers were added during rebuild. Believe it was originally an Sundance Orange car. Body does not appear to have had any majormetal work. Not damageor rot . Lower RH quarter has some small bubbles. I can send a picture of it. Paint was a decent job, but not a high end show job. Does have somecracking mainly on the hood and some chips from driving. Engine bay was all repainted in a nice metallic brown. I would put this in the cruise night/ local show category. Very nice body with very respectable paint overall.
Interior:Interioris in excellent condition overall. Dash is not cracked. Aftermarket gauges can be replace wit factory gauges if desired. All wiring is in tack and not hackedup. All stereo wringis in place including speakers and amplifier. Head unit was a Kenwood unit which was removed prior to my ownership. I simply enjoyed thecar's own music. Due to personal preferences of thenext caretaker, I have left this option open.
Drivetrain:Engine is an early 70's truck 350 block with sportsman 2 heads, Holleycarb and MSD ignition. Don't know the cam specs but it is a hot street cam. Very happy above 3k RPM yet retains adequatestreet manners. Engine runs great. Never had an issue with it. Great power and driveability.
Transmission is a 1969 Muncie M21 coarse (10) spline. See picture of internals in excellent condition. A new clutch and resurfaced flywheel were in stalled this past fall. This was due to a mis adjusted clutch linkage. Everything is now adjusted properly.
Differential is a GM 10 bolt unit with an Auburn 8.5" spring type posi with 3.73 Richmond gears. Due to characteristicsof some aftermarket gears, particularlysoft metals, they can wear. The gears have meshed together and wore together as well. This does not affect driveability, however, you will notice a typical gear whine from the rear due to thelarger backlash tolerance. For the asking price only, I will have any ratio gear set installed that will fit on a series 3 carrier or offer a $400 credit for thepurchase of a new gear set. Those interested in performing an LS engine and/or T56 (6 speed) transmission swap, 3.73 is an excellent ratio.
Wheels/ Tires:Tires are like new and thehoneycomb rims look great. Rims were cleaned and resprayed with factory color.
Suspension:Suspensionwas redone during build. Koni shocks and aftermarket rear sway bar were added. See pictures
Overall this is a very honest car. You will be hard pressed to find one that doesn't have loads of hidden garbage. You can enjoy this now or build it to thenext level as you enjoy it without having to spend boat loads of time fixing junk. I may have overlooked some minor things, however, I have done my best to describe and represent the car for what it is. I welcome personal and 3rd party inspections and encourage buyers to ask questions before they purchase. As with any vintage vehicle, they have theirown personalitiesand things can arise with out notice. While I would not hesitateto drive this car at will, be aware of what it is and any all things accostedwith vehicles of this nature. While it is not a race car by my definition, I would not recommend this for a newly licenceddriver without prior driving experience.
Selling as I purchased a new home and won't have a lot of free time to enjoy this car. I hate to see it just sit.
I am close to the NYC ports for those interested in overseas shipping. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping/ transportationarrangementsand cost. I will assistwhere I can, however, its thebuyer's responsibility to do the leg work.
