1947 PONTIAC DELUX 2DR SDN
1947 Pontiac Streamliner Delux Description
Garage Find, over 45 years in storage. Way cool Art Deco sculpture at it's best, This design was first seen in 1941 and briefly in 42. Mechanically up dated and sold in 46 47 and 48. This is an example of the state of art during the war and post war America. Car has been sitting in a garage for over 15 years by most recent owner and at least 30 years by previous owner. Yes, that is the Original Paint, never repainted. Nice solid car, well optioned, straight body, 6 cyl 3 speed on the column. Former owner of over 30 years used it for parades and special occasions. Retired when engine block cracked over the winter in the care of that owner. It's a fairly small crack and I believe it can be repaired. As another option I'm including a 1948 straight 8 (from a 1948 20 years ago never started) professionally rebuilt with engine accessories. The drivers door has rust on the very bottom (an easy fix) but I'm including a dent and rust free replacement door from a 48. Floors and trunk look good, small area front passenger side. Body is overall rust and dent free.
Loaded with period factory options including, deluxe interior, factory banjo steering wheel(nice), side view rear mirror, heater, radio, clock, glove box, cigarette lighter, ash tray, engine bay reel out trouble light, trunk reel out trouble light, fog lights (have more parts), 2 back up lights, front and back deluxe wrap around bumper guards, 1 nos fender skirt, original side window vent shades by Auto Vent Shades Co. of Atlanta Georgia (stainless straight and dent free and will polish up nicely), and a rather unique back window windshield wiper controlled in the front independently by the driver. Have extra parts from the 48 that goes with the sale. The front seat bottom was a lot better but a racoon got into the garage and damaged it. I threw out the contaminated material. The odometer shows 42k and the brake pedal and interior door panel seems to verify a probable mileage of 142k. Advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Car is sold as is. A $500 non refundable deposit is required within 24 Hours of auction close and the balance within 48 hours from then. If the buy it now optioned is used payment in full is required immediately and paypal is not permissible due to the fees and length of time for payment. Cash, wire transfer or paypal transfer as gift payment excepted. Email me with any questions. Thank you for your interest.
