I was in high school when the movie Smoky and the Bandit came out. Firebirds have been around awhile but Burt Reynolds, in my opinion, was the the one that made the Pontiac TransAm a dream car of all the young men in America. The movie was basically an hour and 45 minutes Balls to the Wall, foot flat on the floor, all out car chase. 30 years before Gone in 60 Seconds and the Fast and the Furious. I remember thinking that one day I would grow up and buy me one of those black TransAms. Little did I know that it would take me 35 years to get it. God has blessed me enough to have several cool cars and it was not unusual for someone to talk at me or drive by and give me a thumbs up while I was driving one of these cars. But this car is different. I did not know that is is the second most recognizable car in the world next to the General Lee. When I drive this car, not only do I get that thumbs up, but I have been pulled over by the police on the interstate because there was a long line of cars passing me so slow in the left lane to take pictures of it that I was causing a traffic jam. This car is famous, it is not the original car that was in the movie and someone along the line put was I call a Smoky and the Bandit kit on it. It's actually a Pontiac Firebird Esprit someone informed me when I posted it for sale. It is a 40 year old car. Its not a show car, I drive it everyday. But to my knowledge, it is the last Pontiac signed by Burt Reynolds. It was signed the day after the 2018 BubbaFest in Knoxville, TN. The only thing cooler than owning a Pontiac, is owning the Pontiac that was signed by Burt Reynolds. This is a great car. If you have any questions, please ask.
