You are bidding on a low-mile, mostly-original, super-solid, 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. This T/A only has 43,000 original miles! She is very solid and zero rust! The paint glows vividly and the interior is like-new! She is TURNKEY! Everything works! This is a numbers-matching 400ci Pontiac engine (with upgraded Ram Air heads), a 4-spd manual trans (now upgraded to a Richmond 6 spd), power steering, power brakes, power windows, tilt, working air conditioning and posi rearend! The current owner has had it close to 19 years and it has been stored and rarely driven. It has not seen rain or snow and has been mostly garage kept. The car is very quiet! No squeaks or rattles at all! I see no reason that you couldn’t Fly-in and Drive it home!
The Body is very solid, nice, shiny, and straight. Never been in the snow or salt! No accidents, panel replacements or repairs. There are no major dents, dings, or damage but there are 4 minor dents and some worn paint on the spoiler edge. 3 of the dents can be removed, the other may not. (see pics). I believe there has been paint touchups performed on the front fenders due to some overspray evidence. The Bird decal is in good condition with some minor cracking starting.
The condition of the chrome and brite work is good. Bumpers are nice and straight with no cracking or fading. The glass is in great condition with no cracks or delamination. The windows, doors, trunk and hood operate as they should. The weatherstripping appears to be original and in great condition.
The Black Interior is in great shape and still looks new! No cracks, rips or stains anywhere. Just needs a bit of detailing! No rodent or mildew smell! Everything on the dash works (gauges, lights, directionals, radio, HVAC controls etc.) The steering wheelis in great condition with no cracks or damage! The console is in good condition with no cracks or damages but has been slightly modified for the 6-spd shifter.
The Drivetrain is original and appears to be numbers-matching except for the upgraded Ram Air heads and trans. I do not know what style Ram Air Heads - I cannot read the casting number on the passenger side. The driver side is covered with the heat shield. The original heads and 4-spd trans are NOT available. The 400ci motor runs perfectly, doesn’t smoke or make any noises! The Richmond transmission shifts perfectly and operates as it should with no slipping. Power steering and brakes are good. The posi rearend operates as it should.
The Undercarriageis in nice condition too. No rust or rot. Floor pans and frame are original and are in great condition. Fuel and brake lines appear to be original and in good condition as well. Exhaust looks good too! The tires look good with no dry rot and tread looks good but they are older tires. The snowflake wheels are in good condition but need some restoration. The undercarriage does have some factory undercoating – it’s light, possibly just sound deadener. Sitting for so long some of the bare metal pieces do have some surface rust haze on them. Media blasting the undercarriage would make it look factory new again.
Other info: The car is in pretty much original condition with the following items replaced… 12-volt battery, tires, some hoses, heads, transmission.
This is an original survivor car not a restored car! It has been driven and enjoyed. It also has been sitting most of its life in a garage. It was never meant to be a Showroom piece. Again, there are 4 minor dents. Most a dent professional should be able to remove without any problem. One dent has a crease but the paint is NOT cracked. Rear spoiler edge will need some touch up paint. One chip on the ¼ panel, driverside at the door edge. There is a touchup paint repair at back window driverside corner. You do see the color difference in the sun. The car does show very nicely and the paint still shines and has a great glow.
Car comes with one set of factory keys and clear Ohio title with 41,433 ACTUAL miles with 43,239 miles showing on the odometer.
I realize that it is difficult to purchase a vehicle you may not be able to inspect in person. I build vehicles too – so I try to show you everything I would want to see if I was buying a vehicle for myself. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my vehicles accurately. I have sold other vehicles on eBay to happy buyers worldwide so you can be confident when making a purchase.
I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my expertise as a vehicle builder, what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale, and what I have been told by the owner, but this is the extent of my knowledge. Please ask questions before bidding! This is being solid AS IS with no warranty or guarantees and is up to the buyer to verify any and all info listed above in the description! This vehicle is also for sale locally. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle. Again, this is a classic vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed. It’s not perfect or a museum piece so there may be minor imperfections in the body, brite work and glass. Anything to note is listed above.
