1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible 389 #'s match Factory A/C Black 4Spd PHS RARE

CMC is pleased to present this very rare 1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible. What sets this GTO from the rest is that it a PHS Documented Factory Black, Factory Air, Factory 4 Speed with every option. Tasteful upgrades that are easily reversible are the 18" and 20" Coys Chrome Alloy wheel package and the 4 wheel vented signature Series disc brakes. The end result is an excellent performance muscle car and a one of kind GTO.

Documented by the Pontiac Historic Society, this a genuine GTO Convertible. The car also has the original numbers matching 389 CI engine, Factory 4-Speed wide ratio transmission, and 3:23 Positraction rear end. The list of factory options include: Factory Air Conditioning, Power Windows,Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Convertible top, Power Bucket seat, Courtesy vanity mirror, Rally gauge package, Factory Tachometer, Tilt Steering wheel, Bucket seats, Full length console, Padded dash, Seat belts front and rear, Courtesy roll out trunk light, underhood lamp. This list of options are astounding for 1964 as this is the first year of the muscle car and many people did not option them up.

Finding a Factory Black GTO Convertible can very difficult. This GTO is document by PHS to be a factory Black with Medium Red interior car. The original trim tag shows the factory black color scheme with red interior and black top as well. The original trim also has the option codes full on the trim tag. This is because the GTO was ordered with so many options. See more within our photos. This is a very rare car indeed.

This rare GTO has been restored as needed and presents very well today. The car is a solid car with no rust repair and has original sheetmetal. The car has been repainted about 8 years ago with a base coat clear coat. The paint job was good but the car has a few imperfections that were not taken out prior to paint. Overall the car still looks outstanding. The original bumpers have been triple chrome plated and look great. The rear Pontiac tail light bezels are restored and look great. All new GTO emblems have been installed. The convertible is black and has been replaced about 8 years ago as well. It goes up and down with no problems. The interior is largely original with original seat covers, door panels, and sunvisors. This is testament to how well the car was preserved throughout the years.

The car has been upgraded with Coys lightweight Chrome Alloy 18x7 Fronts and 20x9 Rears custom wheels. These wheels are wrapped in New Nitto custom redline tires. The car has also been upgraded with a high performance braking system with cross drilled rotors and 4 wheel Disc Brakes. Both items are bolt on components and easily reversible for the purist.

Mechanically, our GTO is an absolute blast to drive. The car starts up with the touch of the key and has a glorious tone out of the Flowmaster Dual exhaust system. The clutch is very smooth and the factory 4 speed transmission shifts effortlessly into every gear. The power steering is smooth and the high performance brakes stop exactly when you want them to. This car is loaded with every option from the factory and all power options, gauges, and lights are properly working with the exception of the power bucket seat. We will look into this and see what it may need. The radio also has been upgraded with classic retro style radio with MP3, and bluetooth capabilities. The end result is a very solid sound GTO that is some much fun to drive. The car gets looks everywhere it goes and it sounds incredible. Call us today on this rare and exciting Black GTO.
