Here is an opportunity to own a truly stunning convertible. The vehicle spent its entire life in California with its original owner that a member of the Hells Angels MC until it was purchased and restored to the condition you see now.
This vehicle was treated to a Frame Off restoration. The restoration was performed on a rust free California body and it was stripped down to bare metal. It has been panel gapped to ensure nice fitment from panel to panel. The PPG Viper Red paint has been meticulously applied to be show quality as you can see in the pictures. The paint is very smooth with little to no orange peel. It is razor sharp, especially when looking down the sides of it.
The intent of this build was to have a car that has killer paint and a built drivetrain that can be driven anywhere...very fast if desired. Mission accomplished. Since its build, it has only been taken out on select days to various shows and cruise nights with about 200 miles put on.
The professionally built 455 cid Pontiac engine packs a punch. It has been bored 30 over with balanced forged pistons and rods. It has 10.5 to 1 compression ratio. The engine runs very strong and it was built with the intention of being a street brawler with an attitude that can be driven anywhere with ease. The engine is cooled with a Griffin Aluminum 4 core custom radiator with 7 gallons of coolant in the system. To give the car a nice rumble but not too obnoxious, a set of powder coated headers and 2 1/2 inch full exhaust has been added.
The engines POWER is transferred to a modern 4L60E 4 Speed Automatic Transmission via a TCI transmission electronic control unit and HEI distributor. The rear end is a correct GTO Nodular Posi unit with a 3.55 to 1 ratio.
This recreation of a GTO was created from a one owner Tempest Custom from California. This was a rust free car prior to its restoration. The ONLY way to tell that this is not a GTO is by the two digits in the VIN. A 35 in the VIN tag in the door jamb would be a 42. This car would co$t much more if if the 35 was a 42! Its a very accurate recreation in every aspect inside and out.
Many new components have been added such as: Halogen Halo headlights, bumpers, GTO hood, GTO Rally Gauge cluster, electrical mounts, bushings, interior trim, interior door panels, interior seat covers, dash pad, convertible top, Rally I wheels, BF Goodrich Radial T/As, Hotchkiss front suspension, front disc brakes, and gauges. The list goes on and on...$$$ THOUSANDS $$$ in receipts.
GTO's are screaming up the collectibility charts in value and demand. Buy this vehicle at a fraction of the cost to duplicate it.
Inspections prior to purchasing are ALWAYS welcome and encouraged. If you have any questions or concerns, please call.
